Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Dear friends,

I have read the book “Jesus lived in India” couple of times. It is written by Holger Kersten from Germany. When I raised this topic with some of my Christian friends…they agreed.

Check the following link which has a synopsis.

Evidence shown in the book is quite difficult to refute. The book claims that Jesus’s tomb is in Kashmir while Mary is buried in a place called Murree in Pakistan.

Let’s share our viewpoints.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

When you find that tomb, let me know.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Please read this book and talk to Holger Kersten. It is not my finding.I am just quoting what has been written in a convincingly manner.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

The three major religions of the world - Christianity, Judaism, Islam - all believe that Jesus was born in, and lived in the Holy Land (Israel/Palestine). This is a fact, right from the very texts of the scriptures of each.

Now show me the evidence in the book that is difficult to refute.
And, please don't ask me to read the whole book.
You must've read the book, in order to be making statements like these. Surely, you must be able to share the content as well.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Hey buddy before that it was Sanatan Dharma (termed as Hinduism).

Such books are not sold as PDF versions. Had that been the case I would have sent it to you.

The book doesn't dispute the birth place of Jesus what it says that Bible doesn't explain two phases of his life. One when he was in age of around 30-45 years and second after his crucification. Few of the people who orchestrated his crucification were in fact his sympathisers and had ensured he would taken off the cross before he dies. The customary practice of poking spear into the side of his belly to ensure his 'death' was although 'carried out' to satisfy others.

After he was taken down he was treated and made to escape...Jesus was not a skinny person, he had a well built physique....On Syrian border he met Paul who had ordered his crucification and he was stunned to see him alive. Jesus pardoned him and asked him to spread aroung the world what he had preached...and Paul took this opportunity to spread his own version of Jesus teachings...tradition of preaching Paulinism continues.

The sarcophagus is in Srinagar and is maintained by a muslim familiy as a dargah of a peer/fakir. Holger Kertsen had in fact obtained permission from state authorities to open it 1989 but that day couple of bomb blasts took place in Srinagar and the plan was shelved. But what he managed to investigate was a place where devotees have been lighting candles. Wax accumulated in that area was removed and what was found was a relief of a pair of feet showing deep cuts in each foot...which could have been possible if big thick nails were driven into them.....Jesus was crucified that way...you know that.

Ancient practice of burying the saints or spiritual gurus is still prevalent in India. In many cases the foot prints of saints used to be taken in soft clay for making a relief in stone or a hard substance enabling devotees to offer prayers later.

Most of the Kashmiri people are descendents of lost tribes of Israel. These people although have embraced different religions but still maintain basic traditions. Kashmiri language has variants of many Hebrew words apart from others (like Sanskrit, pushto et al). "I will write more on this later"

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

This is not a Muslim issue all the Muslims get over it, We believe Jesus was raiesed up alive as in 4:157, period.

We believe in teh words of Allaah rather than, these creepy stories which keep coming over and over again. Finally, i have end up saying is Jesus is an avatar of Krishna and all of them know it.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Dear Slave of Allah,

You shouldn't say that it is not a Muslim issue. It is for all of us. Any community which has raised questions about traditional beliefs has always suffered. Do you remember Christianity in Medieaval Europe, then popes use to sell tickets to common populace as a promise to entry to heaven and these were sold under coercion.

Jesus is also known as Sant Ishanath in Hidu scriptures.

A small community of Christians was hunted and ultimately forced out of Europe. It is.. Amish settlers in Pennsylvania and other parts of US and Canada. Recent killings of their schoolgirls by an eccentric American were shocking but response of this community should serve an eye opener to entire mankind.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Ok fine. This is not of concern dear DSP, as this question was there 100 years back, so this is an issue which is been beaten to death.

The other part is its there in the Noble Quran that God raised Jesus alive, so this issues are raked up because of publicity and lacking authentic information.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Well Pathania we are not experts on Jesus life but i do know that this finding that Jesus lived in India is originally of Mirza Qadiyani. Why on earth he found no other place than sri nagar is something beyond comprehension and how come mary reached Muree, i am not sure and probably she was not alive at the time of crucification.

Old man can better answer as he is a scholar of christianity. we muslims can only testify that he was never crucified and was raied alive to the heavens by Allah as a promise to bring him back on this earth before judgement day. Where will he land is probably damascus according to prophecies.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Neither I am. Probably Mirza Qadiani did not have access to a reputed publisher. What the book says that Mary died enroute to Kashmir which was seen as a promised land by Jesus. India is one of the few countries where Jewish community has lived peacefully.

We all know that Brits were notorious for wrongly pronouncing hence misspelling the names of places in this subcontinent.

What the book says is that grave of a women in murree is highly reverred by locals and during British rule when authorities wanted to construct a watch tower in its close proximity..locals strongly objected to disturbing of the ancient grave and hence watchtower and fencing were installed away from it.

Jesus had been to Kashmir before his crucification. He was very much inspired by teachings of Lord Buddha and had in fact visited some of the monasteries in North especially in Ladakh. A buddhist monastery in Ladakh has accounts of Jesus's visit to it. Many Buddhist monks considered Jesus to be a reincarnation of Lord Buddha. In fact Holger Kersten and prior to him the Russian chap claim to have seen the scrolls making reference to Jesus's visit. Russian guy vanished mysteriously without any trace. These scrolls also have an account of Jesus's crucification.

Jewish community (some of the ten lost tribes of Israel) albeit in small numbers dots various places in India. Since they have been living peacefully in North India probably was the reason Jesus was attracted by this place where he lived and died at ripe old age of around 88.

I had given the paperback version of this book to one of my Christian friends..but before that I had enquired from him about this claim..what he told me that there are many Christians who believe this to be true but will not raise their voice to offend the establishement. He, after reading the book....one to two pages a day...returned the book to me but after converting it to hardbound version so that it doesn't get dog-eared.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Thanks for the compliment. I try to emulate the qualities of Lord Ganesh..the elephant God.

Big ears...listen more
Long trunk...remain curious
Focussed eyesight...eye for details
Small mouth..talk less

(That's an exception for me...I write too much that means I talk too much :) )

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Do you know how many followers does Mirza Qadiani have, just google the results will shock u.

Well the story seems interesting its more like poetic style of writig were fantasy is included with persuasion but lacks authenticity. Well I cant prove it wrong due to lack of source.

Now, let me change my tone if you can believe this story to be right and formulated without any authentic evidence, how about American sponsored terrorism and OBL as a fictitious figure governed by US can this be right. Well I am just assuming again, what lacks in my above sentence is authenticity.

But thanks for enlightening on the 88 year old stuff and age was ripe, now whats that and 88 where was this obtained from. I personally feel, when you read stuff like this you have to question yourself and always give a second thought.

Re: Holger Kersten - Jesus Lived in India

Yes...
Mirza Qadian had hundreds of followers. What he stated in the beginning of nineteenth century has been investigated by a Russian and finally documented by Holger Kersten and sold by Amazon. 88 is an estimate given by author. More accurate age can be ascertained by DNA testing of the remains in the sarcophagus if it is allowed to be opened.

Ever heard about Shroud of Turin ?. It is a cloth in which Jesus was wrapped while he was given a treatment for his wounds and carries the image of his entire body because he was drenched in blood. Where is this cloth....with the descendents of a family living a secretive life in France. This cloth is being passed from one generation to the next secretively..I don't know the reasons. But some of my Christian friends are in fact aware of this practice.

This cloth reportedly came from Dhaka..which at one point of time was famous for soft thin muslin. It was so thin and delecate that a piece of cloth much bigger than double bed sheet used to pass through a ring. It was also exported to Egypt for usage in mummification.

I couldn't follow your statement about America. In my opinion flawed US foreign policies are tantamount to terrorism.

Remember Rwanda genocide...about 800,000 people killed in a period of less than three months. Whole world knew it was happening in an organised manner.. nothing was done to stop it. French supplied the guns & bullets while machetes came from China.

State radio went on to broadcast...if your neghbour is a tutsi kill him. Choice was between bullet and machete. If bullet, then victim finances it else service by machete was free. Women were raped before being given the choice of death.

This genocide did not make any impact on the minds of people because live images were not beamed into our living rooms like 9/11. And Western world coudn't care less for poor hapless tutsis.
