Yes, complete everything before he comes home so all your attention is on him.
This issue is not going to be solved in one conversation or one day. If he’s depressed than it’s going to take him time to open up and share his weakness with you. Don’t start thinking that he doesn’t love you and that’s why he’s not sharing his problem. It’s going to take time and effort from your end. Like Diya said, it maybe an addiction, but every addiction can be broken.
So at this point all I can recommend is spend lots of quality time with him, go on some family vacation, and without words make him feel like you will NEVER judge him for his actions so he can tell you anything and everything.
All this advice is based on a one-sided story, so only you can know both sides and be the best judge on what should be done.
