I heard from someone that Pakistan kicked Argentina in the back**** all match long but Argentina took their chance and Pak wasted chance after chance after chance. Rehan Butt apparently missed an open goal, a clear-cut chance. Also the penalty goal conceded by Pakistan was a silly error.
Hockey is suffering because of lack of sponsorship, money etc. There is basically nothing in hockey to inspire youngsters of today.
Perhaps we need somone like Dalmiya to promote the sport in the sub-continent. It's all about pulling the crowds. Once the money pours in, automatically teams will do well......just my opinion :)

sohail abbass hit the the cross bar twice,but still he had 7 chances,i dont think his conversion rate is that good.Pakistanis were lacking confidence, they were too tentative and wayward all through out the match..that penalty stroke given was a result of that and also their fitness level was quite upto the mark.this has been a problem with pakistan for some time now, they lose energy in back to back matches.

Pakistan’s hockey team is impossible to understand. How can a team that drew with Spain (who are among the top 4 teams in the world) lose against Argentina?

Well heres the simple required scenario:
Japan must beat Spain (no draws) and Pakistan must beat Australia = Pakistan in Semi finals
