oye yar, hes an indian...

btw, exactly the opposite thing happened this time, we won and then we lost... india deserved the cup, especially after they bounced back to beat korea (a strong opponent) and then Pakistan to whom they had lost earlier.

Kareem you are funni…
Well played Indians..Happy to see no untoward incidents…
First half was very exciting..second half way too boring…

P.S: ...u r right i am not in a good mood..had to wake up early in the morning on Sunday ...to see Pak losing is not my choice of spending weekend...I am depressed..thats the way I am!

Oye man forget it! Winning and losing is part of the game. Pak has held the title 3 times, stop being greedy and give us a chance too. :)

Kareem whom do I have to ‘fix’ to shut u up! LOL

:bhangra: :bhangra: :bhangra: :bhangra:

Looks like a final score of ** 8-2** in India’s favour would have been a better reflection of today’s game !! From what I read, the Pakis were totally listless and somewhat edgy/nervous today.
Congrats to Pillai’s boys !! You have made us proud.

*Did India play fair? Questions not raised *

New Delhi, Sep 28: not from our reported at TOINS:

Now that the Indian squad has showed they can score more goals than their opponents, nobody is raising any questions about the tactics used. Eyebrows have arched to question marks in some quarters - Did the Indians block the Pakistanis from scoring more? Did the Indians dribble beyond speed limits? Did they hit the ball to hard?

Meanwhile, Pakistani scientists working in collaboration with Chinese mathematicians claimed they have broken the fundamental arithmetic code. Chief Scientist Dr.A.B.Khan said "while the proof is too complicated for anyone to fully understand, a simplified version is found through basic multiplication. If you multiply 4 with 0 or you multiply 2 with 0, you get 0 in either case - clear indication that 4 and 2 are the same". The full case will likely be published in the October issue of the Journal of Practicing Psychiatrists. An undeindentifiable spokesman from Pakistan embassy expressed surprise that some parts of the hockey world will claim India has won when latest scientific theories have clearly proven 4 and 2 are the same.

Many such questions go unasked. While a full investigation will be conducted as soon as the players, coaches and ministers return a spokesman for Prime Minister A.B.Vajpayee si likely to comment wishing the winning Indians more wins and losing team, well more losses.

Today's Result

  • Bronze Medal: South Korea(4) vs Japan(2)

  • Gold Medal: India(4) vs Pakistan(2)

Who actually watched the match live? If your argument is Pakistan's defence was weak, then you've got to be kidding. Don't look at 2 goals in last 2 mins. Have a look at chances missed by Pakistan's forwards. Frankly, both Pakistani and Indian forwards missed a lot of chances in the 2nd half of the game but in the end India had edge. Pakistan players rotate the ball moment perfectly in the midfiled, took the ball into the D area 8+ times, it's the finishing part they couldn't be able to do it. Sohail Abbas was best as ever. Rehan Butt, Shabbir Hussian, Kashif Jawad couldn't do the job. I think together all three of them at least missed the chance twice.

This is the second time in a row Pakistan are runners-up in Asia Cup tournament. Last time in 99, we got beaten by South Korea by 5-4. So that makes Pakistan winners thrice, runners-up twice and one time Bronze medal holder in the Asia Cup History. Good record!

If you look through the re-building process prespective, Tahir Zaman and Abdul Rasheed Jr. has done a heckva job! In two major tournaments(Champs Trophy and Asia Cup), Pakistan made it to the 'Victory Stand' despite of losing both tournaments. Things didn't look good after Pakistan got beaten on the Australia tour. I think if both(Tahir & Rasheed) keep working on players fitness & flaws, I have no doubt in my mind Pakistan will end drought of titles under their leadership. Let's see how it goes in Afro-Asia games and Azlan Shah Cup event.

Congrats to Lee Jung Seon who scored hat-trick against Japan.

i saw the whole match live and disagree with u. no body is arguing that paksitan defence was weak. as a matter of fact it was a very clean and tight defence... that is why indians did not get a single PC in second half even though they played almsot whole second half in our area.

but when u say pakistanis missed a lot of chances...u r absloutly wrong... well pakis never developed any moves which could be called a missed chance....and i stand behind my words... they did nothing in the field to make combined moves excpet first 15 minutes....in second half pakistan only got one corner...only one and that was not a PC but just a mere corner shot...and there was only one move where paki forward actually dashed at indian goal keeper but he stopped it well....and that is it....i dont know where we so off color today...but defence was good...but still indians scored golas in last 2 minutes....

:bhangra: :bhangra: :bhangra: :bhangra:

Abey Spocky... did you even read the full line... I got the extra 4 goals from the numerous other goal chances that India had but went abegging.
