Ho Mann Jahan!

A new pakistani film is on the way starring Mahira khan, Adeel Hussain and Shehryar Munawwar.
The first promo looks good however it doesn’t have that ‘‘film look’’ to it

hope its one of the good production and not a time waster…

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

I will watch it because it’s Asim Raza’s debut film, couldn’t care less about the cast - just hope they can act well.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Lol Mahira looks awkward.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

They are two men and a woman, who are chilling and dancing and singing and jumping and trying to make the viewer believe that they are actually two boys and a girl.

That's all I could think while watching the trailer.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Whats up with Mahira’s T-shirt at some promotion event? Is she tryna be cool or something :bummer:

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Asim Raza. Musharraf's son in law. Will definitely watch it! Song is good. Movie looks like it's a romantic comedy.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

^he's musharraf's son in law? :o

I enjoyed Asim Raza's telefilm Behadd, so will definitely watch out for this one.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Yes he certainly is. Infact, ever since Musharraf shifted to Karachi, he's been staying at his house. He married Musharraf's daughter Ayla many years ago.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

waiting for the proper trailer, can't get much out of the teaser... but looks like something fresh!

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Don't care for any of the leads but Arshad Mehmood at the promo launch's photos has me excited like a school girl. That guy is a legend and I am not throwing around the word for the sake of it. He can do absolutely no wrong! I wonder when the OST comes out?

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Arshad Mehmood was amazing back in the day. I love his music. Glad to see him back.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

the movie is released

has anyone seen it?

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

I think it will release over seas later in Jan.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Why cant they just release overseas at the same time just like Humtv did with Bin roye

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Watched this in cinema. Very predictable and weak story line which we have seen in dramas numerous times...songs were ok...shakar wandaan is a proper wedding song, has some good beats. Mahira khan looked gorgeous...her wardrobe was amazing...acting wise all were ok...nothing extra ordinary...sonya jahanz role was unneccassary....she looked nice though....syrah yousaf looked cute....shehryaar munawar and adeel hussain were ok too. Overall its not a cinema worth but a time pass movie...was expecting something really good from asim raza.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

^^ Syrah yousaf is in it too?

I think I'll go watch just to support Pakistan Cinema.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Yes in a tiny miny role.

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

I saw the film on the day of its release in the UK and really enjoyed it! I definitely recommend this film to you all...you won't be disappointed.

The film has the classic Asim Raza touch in terms of visuals and glamour, but the story is suprisingly strong as it looks at how parents can restrict their children's dreams due to unreasonable demands. It was handled with maturity and avoided being preachy. It reminded me of Behadd which can only be a good thing.

The acting overall was impressive. Shehryaar played his role well and has really improved from his TV serial days. Adeel was equally good although some reviewers have criticised a particular scene of his which I thought was a bit unfair. I can't think of many actors who could have handled that scene better than Adeel.

I found Mahira Khan to be OK but only because I'm sick at the sight of her post-Bin Roye. She looks tired in this film and somehow I felt her character was meant to be more vivacious which she failed to portray. It's a shame as I think the younger Mahira Khan from her VJ days would have been perfect. The film has a strong supporting cast which includes Bushra Ansari, Sonya Jahan, Jamal Shah and Nimra Bucha. Bushra stole the few scenes she had and Nimra was wonderful as a loving single mother. Sonya's role was underused.

The music is amazing and a real treat for Coke Studio fans. Nazia Hassan fans too 😉.

The film is nearly 3 hours, so dragged at points. Better editing is required. Fawad Khan's scene was completely pointless BTW - it was meant to be meaningful but backfired and looked out of place. On the other hand, Hamza Ali Abbasi's guest appearance was genius.

I'd give the film 3.5/5.

Going to go see it in Wesnesday! So exciteddddd!!!

Re: Ho Mann Jahan!

Kinda wanted to watch this one on the big screen but it's not playing in my neck of woods.
