Hizbollah eliminate Israeli warship.

Re: Hizbollah eliminate Israeli warship.

What makes you think we think this? Moreover, there is no hard evidence the missile came from China. It may have been UAV carrying explosives.

As for the military geniuses, you being the biggest one:halo:, I thought you would know that all IAF aircraft are equipped with IFF transponders which differentiate themselves from enemy aircraft, unabling friendly systems such as the Barak on the Corvette to shoot them down (mistakenly).
Not to mention the 100’s of F-16I carry (probably the most) advanced IFF transponders in the world.

Oh! and 1 more thing. Be it a dent on the ship, or the ship sinking, the missile/drone served its purpose - the ship was eliminated from the battle.

Got a mail about click on the link below, its a small article
Who is Hezbollah

Re: Hizbollah eliminate Israeli warship.

so you are absolutely convinced that every aircraft, helicopter, UAV, missle and bomb and anti aircraft missle flying though the air in Beruit has a fully functional and infallible IFF system that will not trigger a highly lethal friendly fire incident? Moron.

One of the first military concerns is to avoid friendly fire deaths at all costs. The shipboard defensive systems in almost every navy are generally designed for bluewater situations. They are not as reliable in close combat littoral situations, nor are they designed to be. A judgement was made that the risk of friendly fire was greater than the risk of enemy capabilty. It was an error in judgement that probably will not be repeated.

Re: Hizbollah eliminate Israeli warship.

What a stupid reply, ohioboy. You are asking me if these systems are fully functional or not. Tell me, if the systems aren't fully functional, why the hell are they mounted the aircrafts? They should be back in trials & testing labs. If the Israeli military is so convinced: that their missiles' guidance system will not be corrupted in mid-air, go off target, & hit another friendly target, and will hit most likely only the Hezbollah targets, & not civilian targets; that the shells fired from their artillery will explode only on impact, and not at the instance when they r fired from the barrel (resulting in a highly lethal friendly injury to the artillery crew); If they are so convinced that their Merkavas will not be too heavy for the Lebanese terrain, or overheat during battle (causing problems for the "friendly" army), why is Israel worried only about this system?
Why are the Israeli Forces not worried about the infallibility & functionality of all these other systems?

It is plain & clear, that this is just an excuse used by the media to cover up the mess.

Re: Hizbollah eliminate Israeli warship.

Modern armies spend huge amounts of time and energy "deconflicting" their operations. It is a major portion of the the time spent planning an operation. When your forces are massively lethal compared to your enemy, the worry of fratricide is frequently the biggest worry.
