While all of the news services follow some big plumes of smoke, the real action is in the Bekka valley, and the buffer zone near Israel. No reporters, no cameras, but the Israeli Air Force is laying some hurt on the Hezbullies.
They are flying hundreds of sorties at objectives catelogued over the past six year. They are blowing up warehouses of rockets, homes of Hizbullah officials, meeting places, and anything owned or used by Hizbullah. With overhead images from satellites and drones they have developed hundreds of bomb points. Every day that this goes on, Hizbullah becomes depowered.
What people don't realize is that the radicals of Hizbullah have grown quite old. They have become wealthy and comfortable in Lebanon, and the Israelis are bombing their holdings into oblivion. The Israelis have records of ownership for all of the leaders of Hizbullah. Over the past six years of peace the leaders of Hizbullah have amassed personal fortunes. Those are being eliminated day by day. Every hour that goes by increases the odds that the real government of Lebanon will sieze control of the south, as the whores of Hizbullah are depowered.
72 more hours of conflict and Hizbullah is half of what it was. The longer it takes for pressure to mount for a ceasefire, the more likely Lebanon will have a better balance of power.

The voilence can never solve a long standing problem in the middle east. The only way to solve the problem is through dialogue. Unfortunately ordinary Israelis do not beleive in a dialogue. A beautiful opportunity to bring peace in the middle east was lost when Netyahun and Sharon were elected by Israelis and Bush was elected as president by Americans. Now everything is back to square one. A moderate leader like Yasser Arafat was undermined and now you have got a much more radical partner across the border with whom you can never establish peace. The same mistake is being committed in Lebnon by undermining another moderate administration. Don't be surprised if Hezbollah nominee becomes the president of Lebnon in a few years.
Ordinary person in the middle east now believes that peace can be brought only when they achieve military parity and so this violence will continue. Iraq operation has failed, middle east peace treaty is dead, laden is uncaptured and oil prices are rising and Israeli people have not achieved their long cherised dream of peace. This is the achievement of Bush.

Former Malaysian president Dr. Muhathir Mohammed who just retired, had much more I.Q. than any American president in the last thirty years. If you conduct a poll by unbiased people then you would come to my conclusion.
A person, whose teen age daughter indulges in alcohol abuse, is leading your country (A person who cannot control his own daughter, is controlling your country. )Your former president indulged in sexual relationship with another woman and then kept on lying until caught red handed. This is the kind of people you elect as president.
A person who is elected as a President of a country must have very high ethical and moral standard and should appreciate the human dignity.
The only American president whom I greatly admire is JIMMY CARTER. He was probably the greatest American president of the last century. Both Carter and Gorbachev are hated in their respective countries but are greatly admired by the rest of the world. Every country needs such leaders.

I love my country but I would never blindy say to support Americans in their every endeavour. Or support Christians in their every endeavour. Or indiscriminately support any other group without without regard to the particular sitiuation. That is foolish, over-the-top biased and puts your stamp of approval on a bunch of stuff that is all out wrong.
That’s the difference. I support and love my country, but not this president. Not when US troops commit attrocities. There are many problems with the country and cause I support but I am not blind to them. I object and dissent to those I find objectionable. But IMO it is the best this world has to offer, particularly compared to the Islamo-facist causes being discussed here.

Don't mix money and power with I.Q. There are many people with lot of money and power but less I.Q.
But I must admit with unbiased mind that Jewish people contributed significantly in the advancement of science and they have lot of money, but unfortunately they don't have humanity. The most improtant thing is humanity and ethics and morality. I don't oppose the creation of Israel but Palestinian dignity should also have been taken into account while creating the state of Israel. Why not Palestinian refugees be offered the citizenship of greater Israel along with those living in the West Bank and Gaza. This will solve all the problems of the middle east and Islamic fundamentalism will be contained or will get diminished. But Jewish fundamentalist (and even ordianry jewish man) would never agree to this since they want to enslave and treat the rest of the people in the middle east as second class citizen.

An important point which most people have missed:
The the corvette which was disabled was mounted with the Indian-made Barak Anti-Missile system. Whether it was a drone carrying explosives that hit the ship or a Chinese C-802 Anti-ship missile, one thing is clear - the Indian system completely failed to intercept the threat.

Actually, the report is that the system was not activated, as there were so many Israeli aircraft operating nearby.

You can call it a "minor victory". But keeping in view the absolutely no comparison between the strength of a militia like Hezbollah and a Barbarian State like Israel, it was a "major victory" when the receiver of 2 to 3 billion dollars from aid from Big Daddy still couldn't eliminate this ragtag militia. Not even after 18 years of occupation.

No. I said the greatest achievement was when Nazis could not eliminate a ragtag militia like Hezbollah even after 18 years of occupation.
It resulted not just in the Nazi withdrawal but it showed a path for other resistance groups like Hamas to follow.
Which barbarian would have thought of that?
