LOL… this story just shows how badly HT read the Arab Spring through the narrow lens of their own rhetoric. The Arab Spring was an uprising by the masses, yet HT thought to replicate it by an uprising in the military.

The HT clings to the idea that the minority can enforce the creation of a state. Maududi, on the other hand, had it right - in a radio speech in 1949 he stated that Pakistan would become an Islamic state on the day when the masses all demanded it with their own voices.
