It’s the sheer magnitude of unprecedented level of violence and bloodshed in Gaza that moves people. The fact that this brutal genocide takes place every other year (if not every year) is what creates a sense of urgency and desire for greater action amongst people who otherwise aren’t known for their philanthropic work.

I understand where you’re coming from Sentry and Mezhgan, but what Jolie has said above is what I think is also the reason that everyone is much more involved. It’s the unnecessary loss of human life, over the span of years and level of injustice that has taken place which is of more concern to people.

Is it? “brutal genocides” take place everywhere, year after year. It isn’t just gaza. Most of you just choose to ignore it. Why do you guys only concentrate on gaza? Is this a racial thing with jews? you can’t be this narrow minded.

Only 244 civilians have been confirmed killed in 2014 during the gaza/israel conflict.

Ukraine, 423 dead so far in 2014.
Libya, 520+ dead so far in 2014.
Africa ADF, 288 dead so far in 2014.

South sudan, 415+ dead so far in 2014.
Central africa, 1211+ dead so far in 2014.
Iraq, 7422 dead so far in 2014.
Syria, 28680+ dead so far in 2014.
Egypt, 310 dead so far in 2014.
Nigeria, 5026+ dead so far in 2014.
Somalia, 852 dead so far in 2014.

Let’s not get all self righteous here. Most of the above are muslim countries.

Last but not least, there is pakistan. The birth place of most of our parents;

Where is your concern for these countries? Or you just picking and choosing cause everyone is posting pictures and videos about gaza, so it’s a self aware thing when in fact most information is found everywhere. I wonder how many of you have sent food parcels to pakistan.

I swear down people just have a attention seeking disorder, I mean seriously. Unless everyone else is taking part in something no one could care less but a few nitwits with flags and everyone is now voicing their opinion acting like they always cared. As if people dying is some sort of season fad.
