We all are hurting because of what is happening in Palestine. Facebook pages are full of protests, pics and videos; most are very heart wrenching, but some are ethically very questionable.
One that stands out is Hitler being touted as a Hero because he killed Jews. To me, it’s quite disturbing. No wonder the world in general sees us as a ruthless and terrorists community. Our heroes are people like Osama and Hitler.
Time to step back and think. We dont need to go that low. The fight is with a nation (of Israel), and not with a common Jew.

True. While people forget how Hitler treated the idea of a free India with disdain. Just like terrorism to some people is becoming synonymous with Muslims so is Israel with Jewish. Both wrong. I have gotten to know some Israelis and not all want war.
Well, online social networking world is a very funny one. People give very little thought in many postings. Reasons are varied. Some are habitual while some are so emotional that hardly put a deeper perspective into that.
Like its very easy to putup and circulate photoshopped pics or vids or misguided facts.
On the top of it for muslims, captions like, “Shaitan aap ko share karne se rokega” OR “Like and share if you are a true muslim”, as if
you dont do it’ll throw you out of the religous boundary.
Now as far as the question of OP, many people who forward these things dont really know anything about holocaust or hitler or wuts the impact of mass execution like that etc. They just know hitler did something to jews, and since jews are currently killing muslims,hitler automatically becomes a good guy to them.
But if they are doing it out of lack of knowledge, I wouldnt give much consideration to that.
But if they know everything and still treating it like enemy of my enemy is my friend, then it becomes ironic and disgusting. A bad guy remains a bad guy no matter what. You just cant change him/her to a hero.
Now if you try to correct them by putting yr comment, you’ll most likely to retreat yourself cuz if someone is so low to treat Hitler as a hero, they’ll never be in a state to understand your POV.
Again, whole social networking world is where people try to emit their all sorts of frustration so unless they correct themselves, you just cant do much about that.
Well said Sid NY. The problem is this that you and me can ignore someone touting Hitler as hero, assuming they did by really know what Hitler was about. But almost every person on Facebook has a non Muslim on their friends list. Them seeing such comments is very damaging to our already ruined image
What people don’t realize, if Hitler had continued, as soon as he had come to a coutnry where the majority of the population was Muslim, he’d have done the same to them as he did with the European Jews.

Maybe I am paranoid, but we cannot simply blame naivete of Muslims on these disturbing messages. There are agencies that have been using social media to control and coordinate anything from simple campaingns of misinformation ( propaganda, if you will ) to mass demonstrations. It is very hard for an average person, even with a good intellect, to distinguish between what is authentic and what is fake. They become mere pawns and suddenly everyone is talking about how muslims support Hitler.
Where possible we should stop them from spreading such non-sense.

You would and should be, maybe not all the blame. But what I am saying is that it is being engineered on a massive scale. For eg., to destabilise a regime or force the hand of ruler to do something they are comfortable doing. I mean we are talking about industrial scale use. The recent disclosure about Facebook about manipulating moods through newsfeed and another one about a project of MIT+CIA, points to this. I wouldn’t be surprised if some day we will learn how Tahrir Square was a manipulation. When faced with such a thing, it is very hard for individuals to stand up and say no. Add to that what SID_NY said; pressure from the religious minded folks, its hard for FB user not to re-circulate it.
That is not true, prior to 1920 the ottoman’s had control of most of middle east and lower eastern Europe. No where have we sees Muslim aggression during those time against neither Jews nor christens. Muslims lived side by side with their neighbors. Never were there apartheid walls of terror and towers of snipers allocated on the border lands of Jews and christens. You’re right. Because of the escalating violence, and the continued oppression of the Palestinians, coupled with Western domination of the world, if Muslims were suddenly given power they probably would want “revenge”.
If anyone is interested I would go on YouTube and watch Occupation 101. It’s a fascinating documentary about the start of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which is really rooted in colonialism.
