we dont call them castes we have syeds,qureshis,pathan(?),shaikhs........lot of inter marriages....
but castes like mochi,hajam are not famous here though we have few percent of julaha and telis..........:D

But These are taken as castes here in Pakistan. Shaikh is the famous cast in Punjab and Sindh. In Sindh it is believed that Newly converted Muslims call them Shaikh...
There is a famous cast 'Soomro' in Sindh. Soomro ruled Sindh in 16th-17th Century, but after there fall, they were involved in Dhobi (Washer Man) and Carpenter (konwn as Dhakhun in Sindh) professions. This is why, when we meet a Soomro person in Sindh, the first question comes in our mind which Soomra, Thakk thakk (Carpenter) or shupp shupp (washer men) :D

Mian Mohammad Soomro... Other famous personality is Ilahi Bux Soomro (Former Speaker national assembly). The most famous and revered hero of Sindh was also Soomro named 'Dodo Soomro' :)

To be very honest, when I started this thread, I was of the opinion that the first reply would be Prostitution , but thanks to our shareef u Nafs posters like STA and Ninja, no such comments came in the start.
Yes, its considered to be the oldest profession of the world and even as per biblical accounts, Marry Magdalene, the controversial character of novel ‘Da Vinci Code’ was a prostitute.
Agriculture is one of the old professions of the world, but not the oldest. As per know history, men use to eat fruits, etc until he by an accident killed an animal and taste its meat… Agriculture was also known to men by an accident, and the first farmers were not men but were women. At that time human society was Matriarch, where leader of the family were women.. This is where the concept of goddess came into being.

Yes I was expecting the same, but was astonished to see every one discussing everything but pros…I dont know if it was the oldest or not but in general people call it the oldest

Got your point... but then we live in a modern age where professions have developed too far and if a person don't have knowledge about basics, he can interpret things differently... I mean question of ' Anday si aai Murghi, yaa murghi se aaya anda' is becoming more complex and complex with the passage of time :D
The picture you posted was of medieval era, where human society had known use of painting... and the earlier picture about painting in caves also proves that if Painting was not the oldest profession of the world then it might the oldest form of art, human society learned.

yes in case of brothel sculpting might be a profession but in case of caves i will think of paintings as a pass time............:D
