Re: History of Professions

You mean to say Hazrat Adam (AS) was a farmer by profession.

Re: History of Professions

Yes as per Bible profession of Hazrat Adam was farming.. As per Quran, while referring to Habeel & Qabeel, one brother was related to farming and other was Shepard. It is believed that herding was part of training of all prophets, as it made them learn how to tackle those who don't understand your language.

Re: History of Professions

But the question arises, farming involve use of certain machinery? If we consider farming as the oldest profession, who made that machinery?

Re: History of Professions

In start that must be pretty primitive....using stones and etc...

Re: History of Professions

But I read that before farming, human were living in caves and their food was fruits and leaves of trees.. Means Human are naturally vegetarian :D

This tradition of casts with the name of profession also prevail in Pakistan. We have Kumhaar ‘Potsmith’, Lohaar (Ironsmith), Mochi (Cobbler) as casts.

I remember comments about Humera Channa (famous Pakistani singer): They were Mochis and now call them Channa
