Most respected poet/mystic. Why would his people not follow his teachings?

Re: History of Pashtuns series

The same reason why people don't follow prophets.

Re: History of Pashtuns series

Muqqawee has given proper answer. But also very small percentage of pashtuns in Pakistan can read and write in pashto so not just Rehman baba, our people, specially younger generations, are unfamiliar with kalam of most of pashtun poets, except for the some couplets which are learnt orally.

Nawab Muhammad Khan Bangash, founded bangash state of farrukhabad (U.P) in 1715. He was ‘Bawan hazari sardar’ (commander of 52,000 soldiers) in Mughal army. Bangash were not designated as Rohillas despite being Afghans.

Re: History of Pashtuns series

Lol mera bi yahi impression parra. Bangash nawabs were the richest and most exotic subedars of mughals in first half of 18th century. Their lifestyle was in direct contrast to their Rohilla neighbours who maintained strong warrior and tribal outlook for quite a time. Bangashs used to "look down upon" on rohillas as mentioned in books and would not give their daughters to "uncivilized" rohillas. This was more of mughal, nawabi attitude.....and in my opinion it is sign of degeneration. Bangashs were defeated by rohillas, awadh and marathas and were only able to save their state by allying themeselves with ahmad shah abdali. Nawab ahmad khan bangash himself participated in panipat war 1761, he was given left flank. In 1857, they were very much reduced and made a try by going against british. Their nawab was sent to kala pani.
