Chinese planned to invade rest of Central asia but Durrani empire threatened to take action against china in case of invasion so it put halt to their aggression. Ahmad shah abdali formed a military alliance with central asian states of khiva, bukhara, khokand and kazak and sent an Afghan army to khokand against possible chinese invasion. Abdali’s victory over marathas in 1761 and movements of his troops in central asia alarmed emperor Quonlong. Abdali sent his ambassador to china and a threatening message was delievered to him. To clarify the message further, abdali invaded modren day tajikistan which had allied himself with china and its ruler was killed who was involved in helping chinese occupation of Kashgharia. There was plan to wrest kashghar from china, but Sikh insurgency in punjab didnt give him that chance. But just through diplomatic pressure and tactical means, he was able to prevent occupation of muslim central asia by china.
