Khattak dance is specific to khattak tribe, a dance they used to do as warm-up before going into war. Mehsuds also have a specialized form of attan with rifles, in which they shot in the air while doing dance in circle.

Najib khan rohilla, hero of panipat war and slayer of suraj mal , the king of jats. In panipat he was entrusted with right flank. His infantry used an interesting technique, they marched at left flank of marathas while shooting simulataneously firing from rifles after few steps, creating a cloud of fog. This created uncertainity in maratha’s left flank about exact distance of rohillas from them. Najib’s infantry fell upon marathas under jankoji like a surprise attack, marathas left flank got destroyed in hand to hand combat and jankoji schindia was killed, while holkar fled. Half of the soldiers in abdali camp were rohillas , under command of rohilla chiefs dunde khan, hafiz rahmat khan and najib khan.

Re: History of Pashtuns series

What information you have about the castration of Ghulam Qadir Roahilla by Shah Alam?

Re: History of Pashtuns series

Perhaps Mughal's court fabrication, perhaps out of hate for the insult that was inflicted on them. Neutral Historical sources doesnt mention any thing like that, except for some urdu literature. Why Rohilla Afghans would follow a hijrra?

Re: History of Pashtuns series

@mostor95 thats not a valid historical source. Any thing originating from delhi would be biased in favour of shah alam and would be not fond of Rohillas. Story of pakistan site has just stated a mughal tradition that needs to be verified from contemporary sources.

Re: History of Pashtuns series

@Mostar95 from what i have read in proper sources, ghulam qadir didnt invaded delhi to exact a revenge for supposed castration. His territories were invaded by sikhs to loot it (sikhs were angry that his father zabita khan re-converted to islam). Ghulam qadir convinced sikhs to instead invade and loot delhi togather with his forces, his intention was to take revenge from mughal emperor for siding with marathas and destroying rohilla territories. During maratha/mughal invasion of rohilkhund, ladies of rohillas were raped which became the motive for him to reply in same coin. Mughal princesses were made to dance, that was bad but mughals were also guilty of siding with marathas to devestate rohilkhund. Iqbal also mentions ghulam qadir and state of mughals Allama Iqbal Poetry
