History of MQM terrorism in Pakistan

Re: History of MQM terrorism in Pakistan

Brief history of the 1983-1986 events in Karachi

Some time in 1983, a dispute arose over the construction of a shia mosque in Godhra Colony, Karachi between shias and godhra people. There were some casualties on both sides. Later on shias staged a 3 day sit in at Karachi's MA Jinnah Road. The godhra people approached darul uloom amjadia - sunni bralvi madarrssa for help but they were not responded by them. They later went to Binoria Town where they were welcomed with open arms. The ulema at Binoria were mainly pushtoons - one name appeared more than anyone else then was Moulana Asfandyar Khan. He made furious statements against shias in rallies and newspapers.

The student belonging to the madarrssa (mainly pakhtoons) came to Liaqatabad' Imam Bara (baorded on suzuki pick ups) and shouted slogans against shias and threw stones on the imam bara and left. Later shias indugled in violence with the local sunnies. That was the beginning of the two years long shia sunni conflict in Karachi which ended in in 1984. Many shias were killed, their mosques and houses burnt down. Shias did a killing of sunnies as well but at a lesser scale at Guru Mandir, Karachi.

In April 1985, a college girl namely Bushra Zaidi was overran by pathan mini bus driver in Nazimabad. Due to that violence erupted over there and pakhtoons transport was targeted. Bushra Zaidi was a shia girl. After her funeral, shia youths boarded on buses and went to the Banars area of Karachi there they spread rumors that pathans were about to attack mujharis. As a result, violence spread all over Orangi Town. Many pushtoons were killed in Bangash Colonay then - Pushtoons alleged that kids and women were also killed there.

Anyway things cooled down till MQM held its first ever rally on August 8, 1986 in Nishter Park Karachi where AH made furious statements agaist punjabies and pukhtoons. On October 20 or something an other pathan mini bus driver bumped its van into the train at the level crossing at Landhi. Again there were riots between the two communities in Landhi and adjoining areas.

On October 31, 1986 MQM planned their rally in Hdyerabad and AH led a procession towards Hyderabad via Sohrab Goth. Some 10-11 people were killed on that day in clashes between pathans/afghans and mqm workers over there. The violence spread over other parts and Hyderabad. Both parties alleged each other for that. Pukhtoons said that the first fire was opened by MQM and vice versa.

In November 1986 Governor Jahandad Khan ordered action against drug and arms smugglars at Sohrab goth. Pukhtoons took it as an action against them.

On Decemeber 14, 1986 there was an unprovked and planned attack by puktoon people on Ali Garh Colony. That started early in the morning and continued till afternoon as army arrived there. Many people inlcuding women and children were killed and burnt alive. Hundreds of houses were gutted.

Later on retaliatory violence against pukhtoons started in the city and some of them were burnt alive in their talls. Really that was very trageic then.

Sindh Tarraqi Passand Party Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi, his close associate, Dr Humayun Kazi, dacoits Janu Arain and Bahawal Deshak (who was gunned down by police in an encounter), STPP vice-chairman Hyder Shahani, STPP activists Ghulam Mohammad Chanda and Dr Hameed Memon, PPP-SB leader Dr Mazhar Memon and PPP-SB former leader Ghulam Mustafa Korai were the prime accused in the Hyderabad carnage case…

Iftikhar Ahmad of GEO interviewed him in his Jawabdeh programme.

In that prog Dr Magsi said there was a state of war between three provinces on the one hand and Punjab on the other.

When asked whether his party abided by the 1991 water accord between Punjab and Sindh, Dr Magsi was not sure. He was not sure whether the Sindh Assembly had accepted it.

Dr Magsi said he wanted Sindh to be azad and khud mukhtar (independent and sovereign/autonomous). . He said he wanted Pakistan to be a federation of azad riyasatain (independent/autonomous states) but not a confederation.

He said he did not accept the present Constitution.

He claimed that muhajirs were accepted in Sindh after they had been rejected by Punjab. :aq:

When the refugees from the UP came to the railway station in Lahore the Punjabis stood there telling them Pakistan agay hai (Pakistan is at the next station).

When asked where he had read this, he said that GM Syed had written it in his book

if ya wana see that interview … Please search jawab deyh on Youtube..

**how come Imran khan talks about Justice and terrorism … when he has a terrorist sitting right next to him **

Dr Qadir Magsi and Dr Humayun Kazi were apprehended by 'A' team of law enforcement agencies on May 21, 1990 in a midnight raid at a bungalow No. 39 of Gulistan Sajjad. They were handed over to the Bhittai Nagar police.

This case was first tried by a judge of the STA court, Karachi, and then it was sent to Hyderabad in June 1997.

And as expected they have been set free on bails.

I heard that Peer Ghous Ali Shah was also some how involved in that mascare, This is the same peer Ghous Ali Shah who was member of PML (n).

If AH wanted peace and revenge, then all he had to do is get these kind of leaders killed, but instead he killed some one who have no connection to magsi or ghous ali shah.

Sitting next to him does not mean Imran subscribes to all his past and present deeds and views...they were sitting next to him on one point agenda i.e. restoration of judiciary and democracy....you can not deny the fact that the guy has a political party and a lot of people subscribe to his views in interior Sindh....

Just like people do support MQM in Karachi....I am sure if MQM was supporting this stance on restoration of democracy and judiciary....they would have been sitting with him also....but just for this point alone....does not mean Imran has started endorsing criminal activities of some so called tarraqi pasand from Sindh...or would have started supporting criminal behaviour of MQM....In anycase it's not Imran's job to convict people....he advocates for true independent justice system for this reason alone....criminals should not get away like this for the sake of political or ethnic reconcilation...

Only callous people will deny the role of AH's in killing of innocent people.

But the thing is that MQM comes in each and every thread over here.

**Hur thread may mqm ajati

Hur ghunna mqm nay hi kiya

Yani agar MQM khatam ho jayee

to Pakitsan jannat bun jaeega**

Are you that clueless? You know which type of pathan wears red caps don't you?

Immi also is allied with Haqiqi, who are the most ethnic oriented mohajir party.

Soon they will blame MQM for one of the 20th century's most brutal genocides (after holocaust and maybe Rwanda) committed on Bengalis by punjabi-pukhtun army.

The best solution is to have an independent and impartial judiciary to take every culprit to task...

True, and ifti sure as heck ain't the man to do that.

I do not think that there was a genocide then. There were killing on each side and one can not deny the role of India in those matters.

One cannot deny the rape of bengali, especially hindu women. either. That's not part of "normal" war. Neither is checking bengalis if they were circumcised and killing them based on that. That's part of a brutal campaign of terror and genocide against benaglis in general, but especially hindu bengalis. This is documented.

Re: History of MQM terrorism in Pakistan

Mostar, thanx for PM.

I note that in all the bloody incidents of 80's it was Mohajirs vs Sindhis or Mohajirs vs Pakhtuns. I do not see Punjabis making any problems for Muhajirs.

Despite that, the whole politics of MQM is based upon Punjab hatred. This makes me despise MQM more than ever.

Are you joking? The Punjabi state apparatus was put into action to eliminate mohajirs and MQM.

Indeed there were some clashes between punjabies and mujahirs in 1987 in areas of Mehmoodabad/Manzoor Colony, Shah Faisal Colony/Green Town and Saudabad/Model Colony. But they were of lesser extent then the violence between Pakhtoons and Muhajirs or Sindhies.

Re: History of MQM terrorism in Pakistan

Interestingly the MQM bought all its arms and ammunition from Pakhtoon drugs and arms dealers in Karachi during those years.

Re: History of MQM terrorism in Pakistan

Another interesting fact it that MQM and ANP made an alliance in 1990!

That's because the punjabis can count on their rangers and soldiers when in a pinch.

lol…u are forgetting jannat he dekhanay to bhejtay hain MQM or baki saray political parties walay :hehe:

kher all gang-bazi should be stopped in Pakistan, cuz jannat ka to pata nahi but atleast it be as chaotic as it is rightnow
