This again proves peaceful nature of the community :D

Here in Karachi, it is famous that Memons sometimes call them from Sindhi origin and sometimes call them migrants, considering the political situation of the city :)

But most of the researchers are of the view that Memons are originally Lohanas from Sindh and their language 'Memoni' also proves the same, which is very much identical to Sindhi. Even in my office, I call Sindhi Memons and Kathiawari Memons 'colonial cousins'.

Language cannot be deciding factor, because even Jats speak different languages as well, Pathans in Bihar speak bhojpuri with urdu influence. So may be some of them were Arabs and some were from Kathiwad and hence mixed langauge:), Gandhiji was also from Kathiwad. they switch from sindhi to muhajir identity in karachi, smart people:)

off topic but according to your opinion are muslim well represented in army staff specially in category of commissioned officers?

Military is still represented by tradition sources:), Punjab is 300% overrepresented while TamilNadu is underrepresented:), British inducted on the basis of martial race theory and most of the martial races are part of pakistan like Awans,Pathans,Punjabis etc. Muslim are not represented adequately in armed forces, sikhs who are less than 2% in population represent nearly 15% of cadres while muslims who are more than 15% are less than 5%
