Margaret Thatcher. I'm not a fan of her policies (ie. "Thatcherism") but quite admire her determination. She came from humble beginnings to become Prime Minister during an era that was quite class conscious and is the only woman to have held the office of Prime Minister in Britain.

After a long long time, a strong female personality appeared on sub-continent's political scene. She was the inspiration for other lady PMs and Presidents in the region.

almost all female PMs and Presidents in south asia got their because of their dead dads, sometimes dead husbands. :\

That is the point, but dead bodies sometimes didn't work, as was the case with Miss Fatima Jinah. Its all about facing odd situations and getting there, which is common between Benazir and Indira. Probably, situation was tougher for Benazir.

Typically, in politics, if I like someone, it is for theeir ideology and track record. So I respect them too. Flipnside, if I dislike someone it is cause their ideology and track record not something that excites me. Dislike and lack of respect go hand in hand.
Cant think of anyone I dislike AND respect.
