I just think this cash awards business is over the top...they get paid well enough as it is. Give them rewards if they win the World Cup not a test match...doesent matter if its Australia!
Anyway, the politicians didnt waste any time either! Giving out statements within an hour....lol.
I think this series kind of exposed Akmal Brother's batting. They need some help in the middle order to perform well with bat. If we look back it was when Yousuf or Younis were on the crease when both Umer and Kamran performed. It seems that they are not ready to take the entire burden of the middle order on their shoulders. Just not ready yet, especially Umer.
Kamran has performed in the middle alongwith other players, who knows if another 'coup' is under-way.
According to the link you posted, Pakistan was already 6th and after leveling the series we remain 6th. Our points move from 84 to 88, or may be there ‘Predictor tool’ is messed up.

you are correct. aus loses 2 pts and pak gains 4. not bad for a 1-1.
unfortunately pak has a long way to go before they can contend with #5 england.
Yep, a very long way. Even if Pakistan beats Eng 4-0 (almost impossible) we will still be a distant from them.
Pak is far behind because of lack of test cricket in recent years I think. They don't deserve to be this far behind. Hopefully they play more tests in the coming future.. it's not that hard catching up in 1-2 yrs..cuz you get more points for winning when ur this far behind..
What do you guys predict for the Pak Eng series? Let's hear it. Final scoreline?

Actually the rankings do not matter so much any more because I believe the top 6 are all capable of beating each other on their day. It is not like the period from 1999 to 2007 when Australia were just very difficult to beat
From the post match interview and the press conference it seems that Salman is determined to play the youngsters and persist with them. He also spoke about couple of new young bowlers...quite open to change.
I will be very surprised if Younis and Yousaf make it back in the team. It may only happen if Umar Akmal keeps pulling a Afridi.

That's true. But that's not what the rankings are there for. The rankings do not just predict accurately that the higher rank would win. It's based on the performance of a team in the last 3ish years. This performance is then ranked. It's the best tool we have in Test Cricket to see who is the best right now (no test world cup). The best does not mean somebody who CANNOT BE beaten. It's just somebody who has been better than the rest for the last 3ish years. In that perspective the rankings are important. It's the best reflection of whos better !
