Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

I am so so disappointed in Kaneria's bowling. He doesnt even look like taking wickets..Hope he recovers well in time for England series.

Good job

I am thinking of writing to him myself..

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

v can replace Kaneria from Rehman .....

You’re right 40 runs to get, 7 wickets in hand

under normal circumstances it should be a stroll, a mere formality

But this team esp. the batting is so unpredictable and inconsistent that it is hard to know as a fan when to feel completely and utterly happy and safe about our chances

And afterall that has gone on in the past 10 months, it is not too difficult to understand why some people are feeling so nervous and jittery about tomorrow’s play

The problem is though that he never looks like getting wickets when the expectations are high...or against the top teams like Australia, South Africa, England or even India.

Unfortunately, Saeed Ajmal has also been disappointing in the tests he played so thats why we keep going back to Kaneria.

One thing about Kaneria that is really disappointing is how he seems to have lost his ability to beat batsman in flight...he's lot his drift and he bowls to quick, the bowl barely spins. Also hes dishing out long hops almost every over and letting them cut him for runs....

He may have more wickets than other Pakistani spinners, but hes no match winner like Qadir, Mushy and Saqlain had all been for us.

I deliberately stayed away from following the match today. Being busy at work helped

Let's not only win the game but win it well tomorrow

Just bat sensibly and knock off the remaining runs in a calm assured manner

no fireworks needed with the bat
no rash strokes needed

Let's be professional about it for once

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

I would not blame Kaneria just yet. This pitch just wasn't suitable for the spinners. Smith (the guy Warne can't stop praising) didn't bowl any better either.

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

Smith is a crap bowler ...may be he is a better batsman but in bowling he is no good

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

I would say there is no real world-class bowler in the current Australian attack. They are just decent at best

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

yup johnson was hyped so much earlier in his career but the way he bowled he looked ordinary ...

And I hope they don't bat like T20 :)

I will take any win now. but 7 wickets or 6 wickets is no less comprehensive.

This scoreline already flatters Australia. They should have lost by 10 wickets already because their main batsmen and main bowlers havent performed in this match and they have always been playing catch up.

But unfortunately, I dont think Salman will get rid off Malik.

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

Malik is one of the greatest traitors of all times

Batting is still not upto the mark

Younus Khan needs to come back and either Umar Amin or Yasir Hameed can replace Shoaib Malik in the side. Umar will come good at some point. Salman Butt and Farhat are doing an adequate job at present, so the opening pair should not be broken IMO

My grandpa can bowl better than Danish Kaneria.

As for Shoaib Malik, he will be in BOLLYWOOD soon the way his career has nose dived since 2008!

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

Batting is not up to the mark yet! but Azhar Ali and Umar Amin have shown enough promise to persist with them. Azhar Ali’s temperament is RARE for a pakistani new comer! :k:

No kaneria has actually performed against Australia in last sydney test, just couldnt wrap it up in time.

but i will agree with you that his flight is missing. probably lost in discovering new mystery ball series after series!

re: Historic Thread: 2nd Test @ Headingley, Pakistan STUFF Australia after 15 years

cricinfo's daily bulletin is all about steve smith :) I wonder if Pakistan did anything right on the third day? ;)

If anything tomorrow will bring, it ll be australia taking the series.
I see Pak losing with 12-16 runs, give and take 2.
Definetly good effort though.
