Some families will not even accept someone from the same country and only allow cousin marriages. It sounds like he is one of those families, they will never ever accept you. It’s not right, its not fair but life is not always fair. Theres nothing wrong with you (apart from your lack of religion), it’s not your fault stop beating yourself up and move on!
Everyone knows what there parents are like, believe me he always knew his parents would want him to marry a cousin. I always knew my parents wanted me to have an arranged marriage, so I knew that if I wanted to have a love marriage I may have to lose my family, thank Allah it did not come to that. He is not willing to do what it takes to be with you, so as bad as it sounds, he is just not that in love with you. Thats not your fault, you deserve to have someone that would move mountains to be with you, he is not that guy. You must close this chapter of your life and begin a new one, learn from this and MOVE ON.
