Also where is Hindustan occupied Kashmir !!!!!!!!!!!!
In the thread starter's dreams :)
Pakistanies believe that the portion of Kashmir held by India is "occupied", i.e. not legitimately a part of India. That is appropriate language on a Pakistani forum.

Very True ..... but where is "hindustan" occupied Kashmir ... this one was for the mods .... you are at libery to call it "Indian" occupied Kashmir ...

Do Indians find the term Hindustan to be offensive?

Hindustan as far as I know is a perfectly kosher word for India. Isnt Hindustan Times one of the largest selling english dailies in the world?
Most Urdu newspapers refer to India as Hindustan, that is the appropriate Urdu word.

Sure if you are on an urdu forum ...... but this was more for the mods ... as they changed the "Hindu" army to "Indian" army .....
This is a Pakistani forum ... so whatever "you" say is "kosher"(shouldn't you be using "Halal" to be PC).... thought you were interested in "legal " issues about Kashmir .... so as far as your are concerned legally it should be "Indian" occupied Kashmir
Re: Hindustan Occupied Kashmir: The Mujahideen vs. the Indian Military
urdu is the language most Pakistanies speak, anything that is standard in an urdu newspaper should be perfectly valid here too! For example, "Maqboosa Kashmir" would be fine in my opinion, because that is how IOC is referred to in our media. Possibly not correct in a legal sense, whatever legal means in this context :)
Moving these posts to Feedback, since they dont have to do with the topic at hand.

Actually they are to do with the topic ....... and i was pointing this precisely out to the mods in my post ....
As for " Maqboossa Kashmir" ... probably you would like use "Amrica" ... but normally on GS you would refer it to "America" or the US ....... what about "janobi asia"
By posting about "hindustan" and "hindu" army ... the OP was trying to express something ... perhaps the elections in Kashmir have shaken his faith in his "muslim" brethren .... :)
Re: "Hindustan" occupied Kashmir is not correct [split from World Affairs]
I perfectly understand the subtext behind the use of Hindustan versus India. At the same time, it is a valid word and infact the chosen name for India in the dominant language in Pakistan. While I would say America, I wouldnt edit out Amreeka or Janoobi asia, roman urdu is used quite often on these forums.
Now addressing the point about the subtext, in my view editing threads/posts based on subtext rather than actual words is a little too repressive.
Re: "Hindustan" occupied Kashmir is not correct [split from World Affairs]
Are you guys ok with the term: Hindustan Administered Kashmir? Or you prefer Indian Administered Kashmir? I know you consider Kashmir as integral part of India so the word "occupied" may be the cause of this indigestion.
Re: "Hindustan" occupied Kashmir is not correct [split from World Affairs]
^ Which is why I changed the original topic title from:
*Hindustan Occupied Kashmir: The Mujahideen vs. the Hindu Military *
to
*Hindustan Occupied Kashmir: The Mujahideen vs. the Indian Military *
I did this within minutes of the creation, and got a PM from the creator of the thread, asking why I did so. I asked my fellow mods, and they approved of that new title, as there are people of various religions in the Indian army, so the edit was apt.

Even though I took care of the thread within minutes, and before your accusations of us slacking off, you cannot expect mods to be on 24/7. PD did provide his comments as asked in the reasonable time frame.
Re: "Hindustan" occupied Kashmir is not correct [split from World Affairs]
Hindustan has always been used in Urdu literature. I do'nt think ''Hindustan'' refers to only ''Hindu Community''. All the muslims felt pride in calling themselves ''Hindustani'' before partition. Look at the following, Pakistani National Poet Allama Iqbal says:
SARAY JAHAN SE ACHA HINDUSTAN HAMARA
