Okay teelabhain.....my answer and matrubhumis answer contradicts. Now dont start questioning us as to which one is right. It wouldn't make any difference even if want to or try to know as to which one is correct.
singh ji ---I agree with your previous post as well, it's a fact Ravan was a great devotee of Shiva and composed 'Shiva tandav stotra'.
However, as per my understanding legend of Ravan differs to some extent from north India and south India probably due to heavy influence of late Shaivite and Vaishnav school of thoughts.
Since me originally belong to UP hence Tulasidas Ramayan is preferred:D
