In languages there are different words to describe different things. And Empire and Country have very different meanings.
Anyway that said, and being away from the main topic, since all hindus and muslims of that time lived together then....they have more of a reason to be friends with eachother now ...since we have different places to call home.
Besides if they cannot live amicably with people across the border, after sikhs and chrisitans of the south get done with india and given their fair share ....there wont be much of india left. So being fiendly is beneficial to hindus more than it is to muslims specially in Pakistan.

Now come on...dude...tell me how many countries were there AS COUNTRIES before 1700 A.D. Anyways...an empire can be categorised into being a country as well.There was no Italy before..only the Roman empire.But then u can say Italy existed.Also Britain was ruled completely by emperors and queens...but u can say it existed.Why?Its only that the Official boundries didn't exist and u didn't need a passport for travelling abroad.It was only that from 1857-1947 the world had changed a lot...and democracy had surfaced and so the need for sovereign country arised.And relating to the 'Turkey existed' point...u mentioned...i have to say tht...at tht time of the ottoman empire foreigners did not refer tht empire as turkey...but when the British arrived in India...they did call the destained foreign land as 'India'.The proof can be ascertained by the formation of The East India Company tht the british formed for carrying on trade with the then Indians.

First of all the didnt say that India as an Empire didnt exist. I said that india as a country did not exist.
If you dont know the difference between the words Empire and Country, I wont try to teach you english to be able to explain the words that I use here. You are on your own on this one. Learn History and then the meanings of words that are used to explain different kinds of entities.

I really dont care what you think. If I cared what people like you thought I would not be agreeing with the main subject of the post. I do support the topic of the post. You are the ones using the word "flared up" yet you dont know the difference between country and empire.
I dont have a "flare" in me...unless someone either physically harms me or my family.

I just said that Empire can be regarded as country as there were no countries earlier only that its boundaries could be extended easily.Thats it.Say...after 1000 years from now...if the empire regime comes into being again...wat would u say...India lost its independence again...and when it becomes a republic...u would consider it as a country just being formed???
