i wud not allow myself 2 fall in luv with some1 out of religion.......n pls dont give me "one doesnt have control over their feelings...blah blah...." ......not that i dun agree with it 2 some extent.....but for me luv cant be 1st sight...so if i know sum1 i wud know they r hindu or non muslim so i wouldnt think like that abt them.....its not only religion difference but cultural difference 2 and its so unfair 4 kids too ....there r exceptions where people deal with it well...but overall it usually is a messy situation......n above all being a muslim i cant even think abt it.

yes, Muslim girls can ONLY marry muslim guys, but even for guys, I know they are given a concession, but why dont they remember the hadith by the Porphet SAW that when picking a bride, pick one who is most pious/ religously commintted (to Islam)... we have 1.2 billion muslims on planet earth, so why look elsewhere? let me resay it is not haram for them to marry women of ahle-kitaab, but BETTER that they marry a Muslim, no?

conversion is different issue. love is not the reason any one should convert rather the religion attraction. If they respect the religion and convert, it means that they have something common with you i.e respect and understanding for the religion.
it is not a sin to marry a hindu. i think the marriage is declared invalid.
But as far as I know, what has been stated by others is correct.
A Muslim woman must marry a Muslim man while the Muslim man can marry ehl-e-kitaab. A Muslim man cannot marry a non-believer or kaafir, or hindu etc.......in other words non-ehl-e-kitab.

I am not Sikh. I am hindu punjabi (khatri).
I never said i don't believe in god but i dont luk for god in temple/mosque.I just live my life peacefully..loving all girls. And try now to hurt anyone by words or act ..but as a human we are prone to mistakes.

Shikra, what's interesting in that link is that there isn't really a clear explanation about who women can marry. PEOPLE interpret it to mean that Muslim women cannot marry Christians or Jews, but it does not follow logically from the Quranic text. I had always believed this to be the case as well, but now I have my doubts. It specifically says, they shouldn't give birth to those who commit "shirk" and should therefore not marry someone who commits "shirk" (though one could say that they are raising the kids Muslim, I suppose). I can see how Christians may be considered to commit shirk, but Jews?
