Summary of this thread shows:
1- A hindu man comes on a TV show with free will and converted to Islam. He was asked the question and he admitted he was impressed by Islam and his act was after he gave some thoughts to it. No bashing of any religion could be found in the show. Not even a hint of the man being coerced is seen.
2- ‘Champions of freedom of religion’ did not like it and brought criticism under the auspice of ‘minority been threatened’ slogan.
3- Media was used to spread this hatred against the public conversion.
4- Employer with the history of helping foreign convicted spy and even financial relations with people outside the country ran amok and fired an his brother who happens to be present in the show.
5- Completely unrelated issues are mixed all throughout this criticism and brain washing of people as if the willful conversion with or without show somehow threatens minorities.
6- So far no information is brought that the conversion was forced or the man was threatened.
7- Raising issues under false pretext (crying wolf) attitude would not help minority cause.
Please. Here’s the summary:
Diwana doesn’t understand that celebrating religious conversions to comply with the majority, in a country with a history of persecuting religious minorities, sends the message that other members of said minorities should also “get with the program” and convert.
