**true…and it’s shame that in this time and age we are still seeing pockets of abject slavery. i think Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was against the creation of Pakistan because of this reason. he believed that the democracy will not work in the new Pakistan as the system was run and would be run by so called waderas and jagirdars. democracy ran against their way of life.

Actually, it gets worse with Khar elder. He was actually on the payrole of the Indian inyeligence agencies.

Khar was jailed by Zia, but not because Zia cared about the poor people of Muzaffargarh, but because he wanted to Khar to join him, and Khar refused. There is a a book, although badly written, by one of Khar’s many wifes Tehmina Durani, about the elder Khar. A lot of it is probably b.s, but even if you distil it, Khar comes out as a nasty character.
