Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

*If elected President, the US senator said, “I would try to get (Pakistan President Pervez) Musharraf to share the security responsibility of the nuclear weapons with a delegation from the United States and, perhaps, Great Britain, so that there is some fail-safe.” *

*The four Democratic candidates - Clinton, Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson and former senator John Edwards - were scathing about President George W Bush’s policy towards Pakistan. *

*They said they were prepared to launch unilateral military strikes in the country if they detected an imminent threat or could pinpoint the location of Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden. *

“Here’s an unstable leader, Musharraf, in a country with a serious radical - violently radical element that could, under some circumstances, take over the government,” warned Edwards. “If they did, they would have control of a nuclear weapon. They could either use it, or they could turn it over to a terrorist organization to be used against America or some of our allies,” he added

no matter who u vote for.. pakistan is next

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

We can't trust Hillary Clinton.....
We voted for Bush back in 2000 what did he do? George W. Bush Bankrupted America and Betrayed the Reagan Legacy. As super power he didn't resolve the major world conflicts, for example, Palestine and Kashmir problems still there. If he destroyed the world....., 9/11, war in Afghanistan and Iraq and conflict with Iran, continue supporting India and did not stop Israel when it destroyed southern Lebonan.

My vote for Barack Obama for president, a new face and new vision. I am sure Barack will do his best to resolve Palestine and Kashmir problems and we might see some change in foreign policies especially toward Middle-east and Afghanistan.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

The "Palestine" problem can't be solved unless AIPAC somehow vaporizes in thin air...

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

If Arab unite then AIPAC can't do anything.

1) Lard-A$$ Arab leaders need to unite.
2) same foriegn policy for GCC and rest of the Arab world.
3) Stop depending on the USA & GB when it comes to weapon..etc.
4) GCC have single Army, Airforce, Navy.
5) GCC, Arab states and Islamic world send clear message to the world that they can no longer tolerate to see Palestinian dieing everyday, Independent Palestine (West Bank), Gaza should be Independent but manage by EU or UN.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

I doubt it. The genocidal maniacs in Washington will go after Iran first.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

When Hillary Clinton was asked what she thought was the most dangerous country in the world, she said Pakistan. Look up my thread in WA for exact quote (in context). I don't know why you're worried about who the better candidate will be given that you live in Denmark and can't vote anyways.

And considering that all of my predictions have come true thus far, I think it's safe to say that I do have a reasonable amount of knowledge with regards to this election. Obama won MD and VA.

My next prediction: Hillary will win Texas and Ohio on March 4 (a major day in the primaries). 224 delegates for just those two states. And they're both pretty conservative.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

^ Hillary better win in Texas and Ohio, otherwise her campaign is dead and gone. I won't be so sure she'll win, though. Obama is now riding a huge momentum and is cutting across all demographies. Wisconsin is actually the first test whether Obama continues to get the blue-collar vote. If he did, then Texas and Ohio are definitely in play. The debate on Feb 21st in Austin may be very interesting.

By the way, I don't know how many people notice, but whenever Hillary is speaking, she has this annoying habit of bobbing her head all the time in a severe nodding motion, which is extremely distracting, almost comical. That and her clap-clap-point-point gave a lot of laughs to tv comedians. Obama comes across as very dignified.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

Faisal, can you believe that Hillary is nearing the ropes and Obama is surging towards the nomination? Ohio and Texas (both must wins for Hillary) are in play as he is closing in on both states. There are 2 debates coming up, 1 in Texas on the 21st and 1 in Ohio on the 26th and while Hillary is great in debates the Obama train is just plowing and a Wisconsin win would allow it to continue at full speed with no bumps leading into the heavyweight match that is March 4th.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

so for ppl who are wondering abotu US president's foriegn policy especially towards pakistan

here is a hypothetical question, for Pakistani americans.

would you vote for a candidate A -that is good for US and bad for pakistan, or candidate B- one that is bad for US but good for Pakistan.

lets say you had no other choices.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

how lucky I am - I didnt even get to vote.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

An even more realistic and challenging question is a choice between the following

Candidate A: good for you (you as in muslim/pakistani/immigrant) here in the US but bad for Pakistan/muslims in other parts of the world;

as opposed to

Candidate B: bad for you but good for Pakistan/muslims in other parts of the world.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

That’s why we need to change our foreign policy. We need to build strong relationship with Eu (Germany) and Turkey to help our country. We may need a defense treaty with Turkey and Germany. We can’t trust Lard-Ass Arab leaders for Help because they have never helped us when it comes to Kashmir conflict.

Something drastic has to happened in order to improve Pakistan internal situation.

  1. Clean up FATA and NWFP from extremist (Taliban, Alqaida or local Jahil extermist).

  2. No more 4 province/ Either the 15 province solution (FATA become part of Pakistan) presented by Pakistan think tank or 51 districts solution.

  3. Improve Madrassa curriculum It should be based on South Africa madrassa curriculum. I think our Madrassa curriculum should include Quran (Reading, writing and learning (memorization), Islamic History (also including Islamic contribution to Science, arts, and Islamic architecture), Fiqh, language art (Arabic, Urdu and English), Islam and contemporary Issues (Current Affairs and Developments). Natural Science, Social Sciences and Math.

  4. Strong economic relationship with EU (Germany), Turkey, Iran, China and Russia (non-defense) and with GCC (UAE, Saudi Arabia). Economic project with Iran (Auto, Mechanical/Engineering, civil aviation)
Multi-defense projects with Turkey, Germany, China and GCC.

  • Push for Free trade with GCC, EU & USA
  • We have already signed free trade agreement with Sri Lanka, we should keep working on SAARC and SAFTA.
  • Improve relationship with South Asian countires (economic and defence project with Sri Lanka)
  1. Introduction of New political system based on 4 parties (parties should be based on non-ethnic base but can be religious but no sipa-e-Sahabe kind of party)

(1) Pakistan National League (Mixture of PML parties)
(2)Islamic Democratic Party (Umrala party to represent all Islamic groups in Pakistan)
(3)Pakistan Social Democratic Party (Combination of PPP, PPPP and MQM)
(4)Pakistan Awami Party or Pakistan People’s Movement or Awami National Party (Open to all Pakitani, Merger of Tehreek-e-Insaf and other smaller parties)

Government Political Science Institute for training new graduate from university (new generation of politician).

  1. Pakistani Education system, Improve school, college and university standard. More school and colleges in Village and small cities.Improve Urdu Medium schools. South Korean is #1 in the world in Education system Education in South Korea - Wikipedia

  2. Development of Coastal Area, Sonmiani, Ormara, Pasni and gawader.

  3. Further development of Sports like Rugby, Baseball, Football, Tennis, Martial Arts, Boxing in Pakistan
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_In_Pakistan
We need to develop our own style of Martial Art and promote it in our country, for example, combination of Hosinshu, Silat, Lethwei, Karate and Taekwondo.
Local Sports channel to promote Sports in the country.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

What does it mean to be good/bad for Muslims?

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

well good for muslims in us may mean some review of patriot act etc.

good for muslims elsewhere may mean review of how teh war on terror is being handled, or political solutions for issues like palestine.

I think that is what Faisal meant.

My question was more along the lines of better for us here, in terms of economy, jobs, infratsructure, health, and good for Pakistan in terms of support, aid, closer ties etc.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

bhai saab they voted for much more difficult choice. Good for nobody, not even for US, only good for Carlyl Group, Exxon/Mobil and Haliburton.

They did vote for Bush in 2000, since Leiberman was jewish, they thought Chacha Bush da puttar will be good for them :D

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

Why is this necessary to improve Pakistan’s foreign policy? lol =D
I liked the rest of the points you made, though.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

Pakistan has isolated itself just to make Yankee happy. It is time to think what is best for Pakistan.

Re: Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

no they voted for Bush in 2000 not only because of lieberman, but because ppl were tired of Clinton regime's policies and saw gore as a continuation. polices which included lobbing missiles, iraq sanctions, Pakistan sanctions etc.

just a history lesson
