irem and humsa: yeah i figured out waht you guys said. Will have to try that. Thanks :)
Faisal: Yeah i make a joora and then wrap the little scarf/bandana so its all covered. Thanks for the suggestion :)
TheNewCoolDude: I am glad I made you laugh.
Lussi and Fraudz: I am not sure about everyone else, but I wear a long T-shirt with gym pants and I usually run on the treadmills or do weights. I havent found anyone staring at my a$$ so far.
Matsui: Maybe you dont live in a muslim majority area or no hijabis come to ur gym. I know quite a few girls who are hijabis and still workout.

I don't think guys are gonna be interested in checking out a hijabis' butt or atleast I hope not. If they do, well screw them.

I used to work out on those “cycles” in winters cuz I can’t ride my bike in the snow. Anyway, with a proper shirt, I don’t think guys are gonna be interested in checking out a hijabis’ butt or atleast I hope not. If they do, well screw them.
bhaee if that’s the case then don’t you think just wearing a sports cap or something similiar would suffice? Why go all about exchanging recipes on how to make a perfect hair-hidding ghulaaf?

And I thought people went to gym to work out. You're tellin me it's just another place for "poondi"?

Workout's always there but if "poondi" comes along, difficult to resist. :)
Actually I had a personal fitness trainer. About twenty of my friends and I signed up.And although it wasnt a big place, it was great. It was about $100 a month, $50 if there were two people from the same family.
And we didnt have to worry about hijabs. But she (trainer) moved away.Darn it.Now I just work out at home- which is rare.

im not a hijabi unfortunately yaar [may Allah give me the tofeeq and make my heart ready for it inshallah] but i had some hijabi friends who used to work out and they used to wear those light cotton [lawn material] scarves when exercising...

some of the jokes were lame, I think its quite hard being a hijabi in normal life, let alone being teased by u idiots who are supposed to encourage em on. While I know that not hijabans are angels, I still have that element of respect for them and try and not check em out much, but its weird how i always fall for one
dont u girls have any all women gym you could go to?, otherwise, well the cotteon/lawn hijaab sounds okay, i know it,d still be quite uneasy to wear it but still… u gotta do wat u gotta do.
and humsa, trust me, while working out, guys need motivation, and poonDi motivates a jawaan like nothing else

Hmm I used to wear it and work out at the U gym (co-ed) and go running. Light cotton ones are the best. It's not such a big deal. Just make sure it's tied properly cuz it's a pain adjusting and re-adjusting when u're working out.

Ira I think lussi has a point..I used to go to Ballys n I found that very uncomfortable even when I didnt wear the hijab. But then I cancelled n got it for Fitness USA n they have only girls on alternatives day. Its ten times better!!!!! And I think you can get their lifetime membership for alot cheaper especially if you know someone thats already a member. And there are all-girl smaller gyms that are cheaper I think and its definately worth it...you will feel alot more comfy n u can wear shorts if you want to not have to worry about it :p
This reminds me of a girl in my college. She used to hear a head scarf with a fairly tight T-shirt and … (this is never even going to be close to your wildest imagination) a knee length skirt … not to forget her long boots.
