Quick question why do people think that modeling has to do with a woman's body and not the clothes they are wearing? I mean what about men modelling? Is that also about their bodies?
If a living breathing woman's body had nothing to do with it, manikins would suffice. And fashion shows would be a lot less fun.

yes it is, thats the whole point, have you ever seen a model with a gut or hair on his body, and why not, the whole point is so that ladies or ppl who are interested in men can have a look and idealise.
Modelling has to do with a woman's body; arent all those models supertrained and superslim?
Otherwise they can also choose the average looking woman to show all those cloths.
^So men can't do modelling either even if they are covering the aurah?
Another thought also came to my mind that may be these hijabi models don't wear scarf in real life and they're doing it just because they're made to wear it.
I've also seen few actresses like Hannan Turk who started wearing hijab after a decade and now she does shoots for hijab and covered dresses.
All the model hijabis that I see are usually posing not so modestly..hijab isn't about covering your hair only, its more along the lines of covering your beauty and staying modest.. A proper hijabi will never want to show her curves however the model hijabis that you posted on the first page of this thread are not hiding any of that, instead they are posing in a way to enhance the curves!
The answer to your question is no, I will not accept it.. modelling is showing your self off, naked or full clothes on, its not modest hence killing the purpose of hijab. :-)
I still don’t agree that Islamic type of modelling is about showing off your body. And doesn’t it make us do struggle and keep in shape for health purposes?

What if they're not showing their curves and modelling in a very shareef style?

yaar at the end of the day its all personal perspective and choice, however personally i wouldnt want my behen, biwi or betee doing that and thats my personal opinion, as far as male modeling goes well i am in no way or shape a model thus thats outta question :D

I like you. You answer my questions when they're not even directed at you. :D
I guess I don't have anymore questions left to ask.
a hijabi modeling negates the whole point of hiaab.
As Mr. Psyah stated, the women put themselves out there for everyone to look/stare at them. Isn't hijaab about covering yourself, not just hair but the gaze of others?
I think (i may be wrong) that hareem is trying to say that this modeling promotes elegance and a class that is not usually seen in the western world typically in the fashion industry... I dont think family and relatives would be irked that much. There's a lot of people that design and sell this outerwear for a living and they sometimes need real people to advertise their products using real ppl and not mannequins especially because many people would be a little apprehensive at first about how this new and unique lineup would look if they wear em in public, and what the general perception of those around would be.

how can you model in a shareef style? how can you control the gaze while you are giving an open invitation? modelling is all about showing yourself to others.. parading around infront of na mehram isn't modest or hijabi by any means!
