modeling in hijab just takes out the soul of hijab ....
exactly .. they should model without hijab
Before wearing hijab I was really into fashion and after I decided to wear hijab I became very strict like I stopped all sort of make-up and colourful clothing but then I just forgot about myself and stopped looking after and caring how I look.
Now I’m finding the right balance between hijab and fashion. I want to follow the Islamic criteria but I also want to look presentable and want to feel good about myself.
Arab hijabis and the pics I posted have been a real inspiration for me and I want to look like them and inspire other women but at the same time I don’t want to cross the boundaries so basically I want to be as fashionable as possible without compromising hijab
I don’t feel comfortable about my pics being made available to the whole world by becoming a model, however, the clothes hijabi models wear usually fulfil the outer requirements for hijab.
Halal pork? lolz

But this will take the hijab out of the soul.
exactly .. they should model without hijab
I said "soul out of Hijab" and not "soul out of Modeling" ...do the math :)
modeling will still get its fair share while hijab will not ...
Re: Hijabi Models
Ok this idea is not very new to me. if u watch Arab channels u’ll see ladies in hijab in ads.
i don’t mind any hijabi doing fashion or looking nice as long as they r not over doing it. if u can drive, study or work in hijab y can’t u model modest clothing in it? i’m fine with it.
plus all arab young ladies here tend to b fashionable in spite of their hijabs. they look attractive still. a person wearing hijab should not feel low or out of place coz with hijab they can’t wear fully covered glittery tops or trousers or makeup or high heels but they hav to be make-up less n in jilbabs whole time just coz they r covering head. nonsense.
i really like this makeup guru @ youtube

some ppl might object coz they just object anything they r not doing

Hareem i hav started hijaab a few yrs back and ever since i started wearing full sleeves and long shirts covering hips but no i don't wanna look like a distasteful, fashionwise illiterate person either i do wanna look nice still within limits so i do use makeup and other fashions that r not provocative.
Re: Hijabi Models
i think london has some really stunning hijabi’s, wudnt know about the rest of the world but i love lookin at hijabi dress sense…
I think a hijabi that manages to pull of an amazing look which isn’t slapperish deserves a fashion award… its not easy being all covered up and looking flawless…
:k: to all those hot hijabisss (i mean modest lookin yet still stunning) ![]()
but refering to the original post.. nope i dont think i cud ever do it
Re: Hijabi Models
For u Hareem
Hijabi FASHION!!!
Re: Hijabi Models
a hijabi modeling negates the whole point of hiaab.
As Mr. Psyah stated, the women put themselves out there for everyone to look/stare at them. Isn't hijaab about covering yourself, not just hair but the gaze of others?
... YOU QUOTED ME.
:):)
(Apologies smiley) - I did - you are right!!
Re: Hijabi Models
I was offered hijabi modelling during Undergrad and I didnt do it because a)I was a nerd, kept my head low so I could get where I wanted to, and b) I did not want my pictures splashed all over the net. If someone wants to model, doing it with hijab is obviously much better than without- and personally I wouldn't have a problem with it, if that's what you really wanna do :)
Also, its not true that hijabis don't want ANY attention- they do, trust me, but they don't want the wrong type of attention.
Re: Hijabi Models
i think they mostly don't get wrong stares either. people look at them with interest but not the way they look a girl with bare sexy legs
Girls!
If you've been given an offer to become a hijabi model, will you accept it?
What negative effects can there be on your life and relationship with those close to you?
Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of my hijaab? It's not just about being modest, but about being away from attention...not putting yourself in a position to be looked at/admired by the opposite sex.
So if I wore a hijaab, I wouldn't accept a modeling offer.
Re: Hijabi Models
Mabrook- absolutely, and I'm kinda thankful for it. I don't know if other people have experienced it but you see a totally different (and better) side of guys when you wear a hijab.
Re: Hijabi Models
Hijab or no hijab, this stuff is hot :k:
wow…thanks a lot.
For married women I agree but what about those who aren’t married? How they gonna get rishtas if no one is looking at them?
Which one?
Re: Hijabi Models
I agree with what most other posters have said. Surely hijab modelling would essentially defeat the purpose and meaning of hijab.
Re: Hijabi Models
Quick question why do people think that modeling has to do with a woman's body and not the clothes they are wearing? I mean what about men modelling? Is that also about their bodies?
Re: Hijabi Models
^yes please.
