Hijabi Models

Girls!

If you’ve been given an offer to become a hijabi model, will you accept it?

What negative effects can there be on your life and relationship with those close to you?

Re: Hijabi Models

Modelling what?

Re: Hijabi Models

I was thinking about that yesterday; I think it'd be too hard for the model. I'd totally accept it.
It shows that the hijab isnt a deterant.

On the same hand; the hijab (stands for modesty) and modelling is anything but modest.
UFF what a touchy topic

Re: Hijabi Models

psyah may end up requesting you to wear a niqab too :p

My gosh of course u shud, u should have a dilemma if someone says model half naked, not covered!

What could be more modest¬! and earn u cash!

Re: Hijabi Models

Hijaab like head scarf hijaab or like Burkah hijaab ?

Re: Hijabi Models

no

Re: Hijabi Models

yes. But I would have to ask my bf for his permission first.

Re: Hijabi Models

sure why not. beats being a bikini model.

Re: Hijabi Models

whats the difference between these women and normal models wearing hats?

Re: Hijabi Models

you tell us hitchki....i'm all ears.

Re: Hijabi Models

Erm, thats a pretty nonsensical question considering you made the distinction not I.

:)

Peace hitchki

They seem to be normal models already. Hareem01 showed me these pics because she wants the clothes. The fact that they are covered and have their hairlines hidden is only part of the requirement. They are somewhat prevocatively posed and I guess that counts towards hijab ...

How many times I gotta say that hijab is not the khimar ... really I gotta tell hareem01 that these are khimari models. If they achieve hijab then they will avoid exploiting themselves on camera ... surely? As long as their names don't appear and in such a setting it is better to have the faces covered or out of shot to avoid identification. (LOL that is in accordance with the niqab post above)

But on the other hand in this shifted society I can see that it can be perceived as a means to promote khimar and Arab clothing, which is consumerism and that has all it's flaws and problems ...

... how far do we go?

Re: Hijabi Models

^^ my point exactly :)

I was simply wondering how one would reconcile hijab with personal, physical exploitation. Upon which point - why would your consideration of the profession be different, based upon ur decision to cover your hair.

glad we agree.

But regarding the hijaab? It looks like they are wearing a tent on their heads. Why do you want to attract attention to the hijaab? Surely the covering is supp to be simple, unadorned and modest. Otherwise more people will be looking at you - you may as well shave your head and pretend to be sinead o connor.

It gets rid of the hair and by that count, you are equally under "hijaab". no?

Re: Hijabi Models

yeah you wear hijab so you have to look like a kaamwali. great

Re: Hijabi Models

nope...and modelling is something thing i was discussing with my mother yesterday. modelling is not about showing ones body, but its kind of an experience itself, where one put themselves for exploration.

even though the widespread surface meaning of it is to showcase clothes.

ps. the girls and guys who come in modelling dont come it this field because they have sympathies for designer but for cutting themselves in to pieces.

ps2. acting (especially stage acting) give the actor load more roam to divert the surveillance. but modelling is a "no" "no" thingee for me.

Hijab & boyfriend....interesting.

Re: Hijabi Models

Nope.
