What do you mean by still being covered? If she is too much on hijab, she can just take out a long ghongat or wear a net dupata on her wedding dress dupata....
a friend of mine got a thicker material cloth sewed to the dupatta so you couldn't see her hair from the back. But if your friend takes full hijaab then she would have to cover her her neck area too and not wear any jewelry or wear jewelry on top of her scarf. hmm....depends on how far she is willing to go to look like a traditional dulhan. Otherwise it might be best for her to do it the Egyptian way and wear a gown with a headscarf.
You can always separate the ladies and the gents and let only the dulha see the dulhan and keep all the guys out. That way your friend can wear pretty clothes, do the whole ghoonghat and jewelry bit too.
she wants to be fully covered including the neck. do u guys think it would look odd with jewelry? she really wants to wear the traditional lothes and jewelry w/o looking too odd. any other suggestions?
Indian/Pakistani clothes were never really designed for this strictly Arabized notion of hejab where every hair must remain covered at all times. Dupattas are designed to be loosely draped...not severly pinned. Its going to be pretty hard for her to look like a normal Pakistani dulhan while keeping all of her hair and neck covered. Her best bet would honestly be to have a gender segregated wedding and dress like a regular Pakistani bride. The few times I've seen people try to pull off the hejab over a wedding garara/sharara/lehenga, its just looked cumbersome and ridiculous (it looks almost as bad as when Hyderabadi women try to wear hejabs and full sleeve tunics with their saris).
My phupoos bahu does pardah so we made a hijaab for her that matched her outfit. The part near her forhead had the same embroidery as her dress and she wore the tikka under that. We gave her earrings with out saharay (sp?) so she could cover half her ears with the hijaab and not a strand of hair showed. Her kamiz was a high neck style (chinese collar) and she wore the necklace on top of it which looked really nice... Dupatta was draped on her head about 1/4 th behind the front and pinned on shoulders and draped back. Cant share pics cause she did not let any one take any! But she looked very pretty.
all 3 of those are so beautiful…however i dont think her family will let her go without wearing jewelry.

I wore a hijab at my nikkah, wedding reception and walima. The only jewellery that was seen was my tikkah…I used the following pics for ideas: http://static.flickr.com/25/64315274_e8a447aa95.jpg
