I really don’t like turtle necks paired with a tonne of jewellery, hijabi brides should just refrain from wearing jewellery altogether imo, no ear rings peeking out of your hijab, no necklaces/tikkas on top of your scarf, it all looks very tacky but that’s just me.
I personally love this style. I know you can see her hair but if you pull the dupatta forward it would be a perfect look for hijabi brides. With a dupatta, you can get away with a tikka or earrings but a necklace wouldn’t look nice with this either:
Another idea is to create some fancy design for your hijab but I don’t like these either. Hijab should look simple and not over done:
Not brides but posting these anyway, might give someone some ideas:
I think this bride has carried off the scarf and the dupatta together elegantly
If you’re planning to wear a bulky khada dupatta as a hijabi mehndi bride/wedding guest, it’s always best to balance it out with a neat streamlined hijab
Yes I totally agree with you. Im a hijabi myself and I feel wearing the scarf underneath your dupata wouldn’t suit me. Some brides can pull it of well.
Im still confused if i would like to wear a scarf underneath my dupata or just a dupata. However im in no hurry! I still have time
i think material of hijaab probably plays a role too.. i've never seen any hijabi friends of mine in a silk scarf, for instance, even at a wedding. if you got a silk scarf with very little and fine kaam along the edges and some kaam ka spray all over, for example, that might look really pretty for a bride.
I know alot of girls who wear silk scarves for weddings/formal occasions cuz that has the best fall etc. Best is grip silk cuz that dyes close to your outfit or medium silk is great cuz if ur clothes r a light colour then the dark hair wont show through.specially cuz there’s so much external lighting that fabric seems more translucent. i have a-lot of friends who wear them , if any1 needs help do PM i can tell u which shops to go to in isb they will cut u the right amount as well.
now days u can just add a little bit of edging or diamante though personally i feel plain colours work best as its usually wd formals , jewelry with rings bangles and makeup so i’m not for Bling bling on the scarf
i thought this was a really good alternative for hijabi brides who don’t think the dupatta on top of hijab would look good on them. you could drape the dupatta so that it falls on one side at the frony and across the back and around the wrist of the other side. this could also just be a party wear look as well.
it is soooo hard for hijabis to carry the whole desi look elegantly , i feel like non-hijabis have it so easy , all it takes for them is a good hair straightener with the shalwar kameez and dupatta draped elegantly across the shoulders and you're done !
then again the best things in life are never easy ....
