i have a bunch of questions so i could get mine right too.
How many hijabans have long hair? and if so How do you girls manage to keep them still inside that hijab?? Do you put it in a bun or wut?
because that’s what i do and i pull em so tight and it’s like that almost the whole day and cuz of it i think im goin bald
how do you manage to keep ur hijab still? i mean for me i have to put billions of pins. First i pin it on under the chin then on the back but still it keeps moving back n i hafta fix it constantly
anyone have any other ideas or ways to do the hijab??? because last year i had to be in school for about 11-12 hours everyday and due to pinning it so tightly and puttin my hair in a bun that way i would be so dizzy and about to pass out
I don't have long hair, but I think my friends with long hair put it in a bun.
I wear a cap (or hijab cap) underneath, otherwise I'd have to be fixing it after every 5 minutes.
I usually wear a cap, then the hijab (cloth) on top. I don't tie the hijab too tightly, else I'd be suffocating.
Are you sure you're going bald because of wearing hijab for too long? I've had hair loss problem. It has gotten much better now, alhamdulillah. I've been taking some capsules (from health store) for hair loss. I figured it's mainly due to the lack of minerals or vitamins that I have that has caused hair loss.
yar i've talked to couple of my friends, and they say the hair thing iz cuz i tie my hair back too tight and cuz i have long thick hair the damn the weight of the bun pulls it more back or sum crap....that's why i only have this problem in the front...baaki it's fine :(
a hijab cap??? wuld u be able to put some pics up??? i used to wear this thing that was made of a jaali type cloth but it was too tight again and would pull my hair back like there's no tomorrow so i had to stop
and u don't wana know how tight i wore my scarf, i used to have pin marks on my throat n all :(
I know exactly what you are talking about there!I had such nice long and thick hair but cuz of the burden I had a hair cut 2months back and got it all thinned away. Still I feel a little suffocation at the end of the day but luckily I dont feel the burden at my neck like before though I miss my hair:(
I wear it same way as Sadiya and I use to go to the bathroom and freshen up by taking it off and massage my head throughly so i dont feel like I am gettig suffocated in the cloth and the jaali wala cap beneath. Otherwise get some fresh air during your working day. That helps a lot.
one of the things i liked about wearing hijab was that i wud put my hair back , in a bun ,and it grew longer in those 3 months i wore it than it ever did in a year.
i admit though i wasn't that strict with the headscarf..if a few strands fell out, i didn't freak out or anything. but i hated how some girls wud just come up to me and push my hair back in. it was annoying.
but to relax, i wud just go in the msa and take it off and chill.
Chameli yea i had gotten my hair cut 2 months before too and i miss my hair like hell and i don't think i want to get em cut again....but this is a problem for me :(
hmmm i guess im gonna try to take sum breaks in between my classes, thanks :) will try that Insh'Allah
Sara lol @ girls who would come n put them back in...funny
but i guess it would b bettah to take breaks now n den..thanks :)
Mashallah. Can I just say respect to all you proper hijabans out there?
And by that I mean those who follow the following verse properly:
"And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss."
^ so what about hijabis who still dress and behave somewhat ....nonhijabiish.....and girls who don't cover their hair but still dress appropriately and behave how a proper Muslim woman should...are they any less deserving of respect?
I do not think he meant any disrespect for non-hijabis.
Hijab is an obligation and definitely requires a lot of patience and courage to carry it out properly.
May Allah (SWT) forgive us all for our shortcomings, give us all the taufeeq to abide by His (SWT) shariah and sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), ameen.
Don't forget many others look down upon hijabis as they presume they are oppressed and backwarded.

Deserving of some respect? Maybe so. But compared to those who follow the verse properly they are not close. They dont pick and choose what to obey.
And at the risk of being called a hypocrite, no I don't follow the Quran fully. Just giving praise where praise is due.

No, i'm not saying there was any disrespect meant on his part or not. I'm just pointing out how it's not fair that only hijabis are deserving of the "mashallahs" and respect. It's just as requiring patience and courage to not date, to have to cover up even though it's 90-osmething degrees out.
Yes, hijab is obligatory, and it's good to follow it but I don't think it makes you a better Muslim. It doesn't guarantee you anything, and that's how many view it.
We all deserve respect, whether we cover our hair or not.
