When considering marrige first time round or second time round what would you consider , if you were highly educated would u marry someone less educated then u ? Or someone who was educated but decided not to persue a career or someone who was educated but not as the same level as u
Does degree matter alot when getting married pls flow with some anwers question as been bugging me for a while
Re: Highly educated or not
I don’t care about the degree or major as long as she’s not dumb and on the same intelligence level as me.
Re: Highly educated or not
mental compatibility matters or mutual understanding does?
I have seen many couples, highly qualified ones, fighting over little things? Then there were times, when our grandparents got married to simple women and they lived a beautiful life? Whats more important is that you both understand each other’s role in that relationship, have mutual respect and acceptance for each other.
Re: Highly educated or not
No way. She must understand quantum physics for me to even began to get turned on.
Re: Highly educated or not
Then you must pay attention to your grammar at least ![]()

Re: Highly educated or not
Oh boy, you must have a boner hearing Neal Degrasse Tyson talk…I know I DO!!
Re: Highly educated or not
Yeah not in to that
If you can get Noor Jahan to talk about String theory then we’ll talk.
Re: Highly educated or not
for you then any 12 grader can do fine.
Re: Highly educated or not
I think intellect is always buried within feelings to paraphrase Bradbury and I’ve always thought that emotional intelligence is often times more important than conventional “book smarts.” if that makes any sense. At this point in life, I’m more likely to value emotional intelligence.
Re: Highly educated or not
Agree our parents and grandparents did leave a simple life not all this mattered in there lives mutual understanding was more focused on
Re: Highly educated or not
Nice way to put it glad someone does think like that
Re: Highly educated or not
Ditto!
Re: Highly educated or not
I have come across the dumbest PHD’s in my life and have to shake my head. I send my kids personal development videos and talk to them often about it, this concept is not widely embraced in our people yet. I don’t like boring people who couldn’t hold my attention. The new concept also is that physical literacy is very important.
Re: Highly educated or not
.
Re: Highly educated or not
True. Emotional intelligence is more valuable. The right balance between emotional intelligence and book smart is needed.
Re: Highly educated or not
Some people are a bit arrogant in feeling that intelligence is book smarts, I deal with many trades and they have a different kind of intelligence. A tile setter can install tiles way better than a doctor can and he is intelligent in that trade, many trades have better street smarts. I see many very educated western girls marry trades people.
Just to give an example of Safy and Justin, Justin is an apprentice electrician, Safy is going to Uni, Safy learns stuff at school, Justin learns stuff at his work, both are learning but in a different way. Safy is spending 25K/yr to study, Justin is making 45K/yr and learning and at the end of 4 yrs Justin will be 300K ahead of Safy and both will have same wages.
Re: Highly educated or not
A degree or lack thereof didn’t have much bearing on my decision.
