Re: Highly educated or not
It’s a combination of a lot of things, but a good degree does matter and is always a plus point.
Re: Highly educated or not
I hope you find your baker soon.
Re: Highly educated or not
I think guys care less about a girls major/degree than the other way around.

Re: Highly educated or not
I would disagree. When guys are just starting out they care less. But if they successfully established themselves, paid off all their loans, highly ambitious they don’t have time for a girl who has a crappy major working a $30K job. They’re looking for someone who has worked just as hard on themselves.
My friends older sister just got married and she’s a dentist. Her husband owns a dental clinic and is a dental surgeon. They both wanted someone who was highly educated. Neither guy or girl would settle with someone with just a bachelors.
Re: Highly educated or not
I agree, this is in my family too…they typically marry their similar education, A Rocket scientist married a lawyer, a Dr married another Dr…, Physical Therapist to another Physical Therapist…the only difference I see is when the guy is marrying a teacher…mainly because he wants his wife to be home and raise the children.
Re: Highly educated or not
The data says otherwise and there are many cases of old rich farts getting trophy wives lol.
Female hypergamy is strongly supported by evolutionary science just like male polygamy.
Re: Highly educated or not
There’s tons of guys who want trophy wives or wives that are housewives that take care of kids and have no intention of ever having a career.
But it’s not all of them. And certainly middle class guys or upper middle class guys who are educated and ambitious would want someone with a similar mindset.
To each his own.
Re: Highly educated or not
There are almost equal number of women in workforce as men, for a young punk you are behind times. Many successful women now can get arm candy too. Here I will post this for you again.
Re: Highly educated or not
To highly educated guys themselves, I don’t think it matters. To parents of such guys, it matters a lot!
Re: Highly educated or not
As a woman, a man’s education, emotional intelligence and character matter.
By education, I don’t mean a degree. I have seen many advanced degree holding men sound like they just need someone to listen to them talk about themselves. I mean intellect, the ability to reason and come to reasonable conclusions…not melodramatic BS.
Emotional Intelligence. Empathy, sympathy, maturity of thought and mind, acceptance, compromise, etc.
Character. Living your life with total honesty and integrity. Principles.
Re: Highly educated or not
I think degree matters a lot so minimum bachelors if its a professional degree otherwise at least a masters degree.
Re: Highly educated or not
Lol how does that make somebody a better person or compatible with you?!?
Re: Highly educated or not
There is also an issue of proximity. Highly educated guys spend most of their time in academic environments such as academic/industry labs and conferences. It’s far more likely for them to get to know girls who also happen to be in those environments. Beyond that I don’t think education level matters for a guy. She could be a grad student, receptionist or a professor.
Re: Highly educated or not
I do notice that I vibe more with girls that are either education or nursing majors, so maybe a major does tell something about your personaltiy. I notice that the most attactive girls are arts and business majors but their personalities turned me off lol.
Re: Highly educated or not
The question I was answering to said nothing about compatibility or if a person is good or not. It asked if you would marry someone less educated and if degree matters or not.
Re: Highly educated or not
My friend Larry is worth in 100s of millions, he one day told me that he bought an entire small town and he married a waitress, not everyone makes business out of love. We do know a couple like you mentioned and they are now divorced. You don’t sleep with a career, you sleep with a person. No wonder there is so much unhappiness around.

No I think he meant…“Begum” ![]()
Re: Highly educated or not
most answers I read here talk about intellect and also emotional Intelligence…my question to the ones looking for emotional intelligence is, at what phase of your negotiations for the prospective mate will you do the emotional intelligence Test? … I suggest it better be outdoors …so both parties can have a quick exit ![]()
