Nothing here for less than 100 bucks, and then you have to pay maintenance over the next few months.

i really want highlights, but I dont think its worth forking over hundreds of dollars in set up and maintenance.

Try a local college with a teaching salon. If you don't want anything too fancy they do a good job, in the UK anyway.

Yeah try colleges, When i was in college we used to do amazing stuff to clients, And they didnt even have to pay. It was optional, Well in beauty. I think its like that in Hair too.
They do really good work too, and their more dedicated because you hav your tutor breathing down your neck to do it 100%

Some salons have their own "teaching salon". It's a place where new stylists can learn and older stylists can come back to practice or learn new techniques. When I lived in upstate NY I would always go to this one teaching salon place for highlights. It was so much cheaper and I was always satisfied. I feel like they are more willing to listen to what you want at these places too. As opposed to a regular salon where they feel like they know best. Upstate is pretty dead in my opinion... so chances are if you did research you would find a similar place in your area as well.

athere are at home salons!!
all these hairdressers....some of them work from home too on their days off when they have a lot of clients or are established hair dressers.
i have a lady who works from home...she charges me only 20bux for wash, cut, blowdry and style!
for all this and highlights all over....50bux. free bangs cut when they needed freshening up. im in toronto btw but im sure there are same situations/services everywhere...
oh and don't be tricked into getting brand new highlights when ur color fades....all u need to do is ask for 'toner' to refresh the color of your highlights. especially if u do red color. and toner is cheap! like only 10-15bux.

do you or the said laptop have highlights? stoppit has blonde highlights and she bleaches her eyebrows.
