Highlights

Being desi, not every hair color would look good on us, those of you who have highlights wht do u think looks best on you. Im getting hightlights soon and was thinking a caramel kinda color .

wht do u guys prefer on ur hair

Re: Highlights

I am too scared to get my hair color or highlighted because over the years, it's really damaging.. but I love those golden brown highlights on dark hair.

Re: Highlights

i love the mahogny colour...but have never ever coloured my hair...i dont dare :/
one of my chinese friends did a caramel/ browny colour thru her very dark brown hair...it looked lovely...but after half a year she had so many white hairs in between...anyway if u keep up the colouring i guess it would look nice.
btw if u do it...can u post a pic of ur hair before and after? i love make-over results:)
good luck:)

Re: Highlights

I used to get blonde highlights.... it looked hot but it damaged my hair badly. I wouldnt recommend caramel highlights maybe like a honey brown

Re: Highlights

yea im scared to dye it too and my moms telling me not to but since im gonna have a day in between my wedding and valima i want a dramatic change. and so i was going to get hightlights for my valima. I think using those special shampoos will keep it healthy and i always use honey to treat my hair, before taking a shower i put honey (its gross) but it keeps my hair so healthy !

I usually get the caramel colored but got lighter almost ashy this time but the thing is they are really non chunky ones . What do you want, chunky or non?
One thing is that with the blonde ones,it washes you out, thats why I go for deep reds with them

Re: Highlights

When I go, I usually get a very nice coppery brown color in the summer.

Can you please tell us exactly how you use honey in your hair?

Re: Highlights

A caramel colour sounds good, its more toned down and not as vivid as blonde. If that was me, I would totally get electric blue/red/purple/green highlights, but I'm not allowed to get highlights soI just use clip-in extensions. But thats just me, I don't like styling my hair like everyone else has it these days. =]

Re: Highlights

It depends on one's color and complexion.....if u want a slight change without damaging ur hair--can always use mehndi:)

When getting highlights/lowlights done keep u're complexion in mind..those who have olive skin can carry-off darker browns and red.. and even coppers. Fair complexions can chose all light shades of browns..

Remember that the color on the swatches and the real color almost always comes out diff cuz they mix bleach into it to strip u're hair of melanin so that color penetrates and stays. =)

Re: Highlights

so @gina.... does the bleached hair get white after the hair color fades????

nope.....u get a new growth of ur natural hair...

^ Actually when the color fades it leaves u with orangey hair and bleach does lead to premature white hair =) avoid it if u can..

Re: Highlights

thanks gina for ur advices...i missed you when u were gone.
do highlight really damage ur hair? some ppl say it does and some say it doesnt.?

Highlights don't damage u're hair, it's actually bleach that harms the hair! Get pretty mocha lowlites they look nice..roasted browns are in.
