It's tricky. I've never seen as many Hijabs and beards either. It's one thing if the government tries to stop it...but if the common people start conflicting over this...it's a different story. And unlike the West, there is no concept of "freedom" available in the legal and political scene of Pakistan for the liberals to fall back on.
Where did you see people being "free"...and what exactly does being "free" entail?
Also, from what my cousins and bro in law tells me, there actually were 'parties' back in the day...even under Zia's regime. Or at least...there was talk of them...
right... no freedom..that's why the maulvi's are going insane..right..okay i agree..there were parties..but you didnt go yelling it out on the street or something..whatever happened was between the people who attended it...and the host..and..i'm just saying there wasnt as much talk of them..it wasnt so common..these days..all the little rich brats always have them..it's the "it" thing
