Hi, can I be your friend?

So my cousin found this monitor lizard in his yard in Karachi. Well his kid did and freaked out. They managed to lasso it :hehe: and set it free somewhere away from their house. I think if I came across something like that i’d poop my pants. I didn’t even know those things were in Karachi :frowning: I is scared. :teary2:

Re: Hi, can I be your friend?

Interesting fact: monitor lizards are eaten in parts of South India, where the meat is considered an aphrodisiac…yes, I Wiki’d it :snooty:

Resedential area, but there was an empty plot next door, which construction had started on, so he figured maybe that thing was hanging there and then moved to their house when the construction started. Yeah that thing is HUUUGE (TWSS)

Re: Hi, can I be your friend?

Is this one of those things that can raise itself on all 4 legs, like a panicked cat?

Something similar to that started living inside the hedge of our neighbors in Pakistan and used to come inside their house. It was about the size of a big cat. During my sister's wedding, the nighbors gave us one of their rooms so extra people can stay. Bad for me that I decided to stay in that room, that night. No one told me about that thing coming in their house (or even living outside) as I was living in Islamabad in those days and came back to Karachi, only to attend the wedding. It was a very warm night, I opened the window and slept.

In the middle of the night, I sensed something crawl over me, put a claw on top of my face to walk out the window which was right above and behind my head. Now that was a pooping moment for me to wake up with.

Later when I told my brother, he told me that it must be that big lizard that lives in the hedge. And all my idiot cousins and my brother were laughing.

Re: Hi, can I be your friend?

Well my cousin isn’t THAT brave either, one of the guys that works there climbed this wall and got to it. Said he was fearless cause I guess he’s seen them before. They put it in a box first but it jumped out  so then they put it in a rice sack, then a box, then tied up the box, then drove it out to an open field and let it go. Now I feel sorry for the next person who will encounter it :hehe:
