I am not sure if this is the right forum lekin…I I would just like to honour some of the great Pakistanis who, despite the problems of our country, have risen above the challenges and indelibly left their mark on history for ever. I hope you can join me in this…
I begin with…
Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan --for being the driving force and the brains behind making us the world’s first muslim nuclear power against impossible odds and making our defences impregnable. I salute him!
(btw, is there any biography available on him?)
There was a thread a while back about such things. At that time I was bringing this forum out of teh dead.
I suggest we start it again, a weekly personality, a hero or national personality, someone who holds a unique place for us, and share our knowledge about the person.
I would say one of the most amazing people in Pakistan is Edhi. I can not even imagine how much effort it took for him to do what he has done.
mmmmmmmm…thanks for the offer Sabah ji
(waisay i recieved your package at last–postman bachh gya hai…
..what is …Pak? It’s okay, i know ke aap aik www.pak.org ki moderator hain par is doosri dot-pak ka url de dain na …
good source of info on edhi is the monthly edhi newsletter. They have it here in the US an im sure they have it in europe too. At first i thought the guy had too much money and he was a philanthropist. But via their newsletter i came to know that all the edhi business runs on donations, and the whole edhi family has devoted all their time to this noble cause. Edhi says, and i believe him, that he has a total of 3 sets of clothes that he interchanges, and that he lives with his wife in a two room house. I say this man has a one way ticket to jannat alongwith his family.

Also, i think there is a mention of them in the Guiness book, about edhi services being the largest private or perhaps even non private ambulance corps all over the world.
do they have a web presence?? if not I would like to possibly get some people involved and work with edhi foundation to establish something for them which can allow people to get addresses and all to send donations and in case of monetary donations maybe just donate over the internet.
I think it would be a worthwhile cause. I had been thinking about it for a while but time constraints kept it just as a possibility and not a real plan of action.
2PAK.. he is not alive.. Dr. Abdul Salam, died few years back in Italy..... indeed a very great and learned personality....... but ofcourse who needs a qadiani in pakistan......
i am ashamed of even looking at the small minded and petty post you just made.
Does it matter what faith the person had? he could be an atheist for all i care, but he did bring fame and respect for the country in international circles.. and small petty minded pakistanis banished him from his homeland..

Anyone who does that (makes nukes) is a filthy sob.

I thought you loved the USA? The land that not only invented the nuclear bomb but shoved their pudgy finger on the 'fire' button twice while cheerleaders like you were throwing their batons in the air singing 'hey-hey USA'?
You want to eat at the top restaurants but you don't want to pay the bill??
