That’s a strange comment. Why are you assuming the money has be “haram” to be spent on a birkin. Women spend millions on jewelery. I am sure you do too or will at some point when you marry. Is that money haram too? and if not, please explain to me the difference between spending millions on a gold/diamond necklace and a birkin.
