I have recently bought a Hermes pink BIrkin bag and i have been observing thatv alot of ppl holding these bags in different colors.

i wouldnt pay that much for a bag...and it seems like everyone whose got money in pakistan has one of those bags....

i'm getting a similar bag from Aldo for 20 bucks..lol.

yeah i think the same..hermes birkin is too expensive n i've heard they even put u in the waiting list is that true..n honestly it doesnt look that stylish either very old fashioned..but thats just me

Yes and no...it really varies from store to store. Birkins are made entirely by hand and take over a week to make, and Hermes only releases a limited number of bags to each store. That said, at least here in the US if you're in a major city with a large Hermes boutique, getting a Birkin isn't too difficult if you aren't very picky and are mostly interested in "entry level" pieces in basic colors. But if you're looking for specific colors and leathers, then the pieces have to be special ordered, and that process can take months. It's also generally easier to purchase Birkins in Europe - the Hermes boutiques in London & Paris seem to have much better stock that here in the States.

I love the look of Victoria Beckham’s pink ostrich Birkin and that silvery crocodile one, the colour is called himalaya.. having said that imo those exotic animal skins are a bit dodgy and to me those bags only look nice open, I think they can look a bit old fashioned when closed.. my favourite classic line of bags is LV Suhali :wub:

Compared to the absolute tack you see being marketed today by so called “high end” brands…Birkins are timeless, chic and elegant. I love my Birkins! :wub:

^ I agree Maroush, Birkin’s are timeless…a fashion icon. As soon as I can afford one inshallah I’m getting a 35 Togo in Black or Raisin and when I first saw the 35 Clemence in Bougainvilliere I fell in love. Such a unique colour!

I have a question though, I know there’s rumoured waiting lists but is it true that they can essentially refuse to sell you a bag? I’ve heard people say that you have to be a regular customer of Hermès before they even think of selling you one.

They’re gorgeous aren’t they? I do prefer my LV Mahina though. Also, I’ve always loved Mulberry bags, their Bayswater is a classic and I really want to get their Daria Hobo :wub:

The raisin colour is yummy! I have an Ostrich in Tan, Leather (veau togo) in Black and Crocodile in Red. I hardly ever use the Ostrich and Crocodile, they’re too nice to use and i want to preserve them…this doesn’t sit well with hubby dearest who bought them :cb:! I use the black one mostly…

I’ve never bought a Birkin from Hermès (hubby bought 2, MIL bought me the Black one) so i’m not really sure…:hmmm:..most of the time, Birkins can’t be purchased just by walking into the store (they have to be specially made) thought they do have a select few available in the store…maybe it’s a case of selling its most coveted product only to loyal customers?? Maybe it’s a marketing ploy to keep things as exclusive as they can be…:hmmm:

I’m a member of another forum (where there are lots of Hermès employees and clientèle) and i recall on there, a person saying how they had purchased a certain rare Birkin from this one particular store… the day after, the store manager of that store was inundated with angry regulars, pissed as to why a “non regular” was sold this bag…crazy. :rolleyes:

let me rephrase it..they r a bit too sophisticated for my taste..i’m in my early 20’s..but nodoubt they do look classy..i’ll probably get one in my thirties
