I'm sure we've had numerous threads here under this name. I just came across this very nice lady who did my eid mehndi for me (thanks to khawateen) and thought I should share her contact with any potential brides. She did an AMAZING job and she's cheap.
To compare with, her designs are the same delicate style as Dimple's, but she charges $50 for bridal henna, as opposed to the $500 that dimple quotes. And I'm sure some of us here are always on a tight budget, hence, I would suggest all you potential brides to give her a shot!
Her name is Vibha, and she works at the Oleega salon. I took her personal number as well since I've a cousin's wedding coming up in December, so I know our family's problem is solved. Eitherways, she can be contacted at the salon at 905 471 0099. The salon is located in Scarborough, or her personal number that she gave me was 416 438 8850.
Hey SGC, I’m not sure how much you had done for your wedding. But I wanted mehndi on till atleast mid-arms and Dimple had quoted me around $500 including feet. I thought that was ridiculous.. Like I almost paid that much for my makeup altogether (shadi + valima).
Eitherways, I randomly walked into this salon and got it done right then. I’m sure when this lady does brides, she would probably do a wayyy better job. I thought the design was pretty decent + I had the mehndi on for 3-4 hours barely and the color didn’t come out that bad either. And I just got back from some Eid dawats.. and here’s my color after a day’s toil ..
Bhenjee that's nice mehndi! i had my mehndi up to my elbows and calves, very heavy...and it was $350 but this was in january 07, almost two years ago So i think she may have increased her prices since then.
sara516 that could be a possibility. that's the quote i got, and obviously that scared me! even it she'd quoted 300 or so, to be honest it was beyond what i could've afforded for my mehndi. it washes off after a few days anyways. eitherways, it's to each his own.
i got mine done from a family friend's daughter. she did a pretty decent job too and the mehndi was obv all the way up to my elbows, so i was a happy bride.
wow SGC, i think $100 was still a lot for the little that you wanted (compared to some of us).
this lady is just an affordable alternative for some of us. plus she's close to where i live, so for me, it's a great discovery.
secondly, while i had been discussing this mehndi-waali issue with my hubs, he suggested i should also try visiting one of those arabic salons. they probably do something amazing and different too.
anyone has had any such experience? and where can i look for some??
just saw this thread
i am looking for someone for mehndi too
behnjee...does she travel if there's a few people wanting it done?
i called dimple shah and for bare minimum she's now charging $150 plus upto $500
i'd rather spend that money on something worth it
