Help!!!

Okay, I have this iphone, I got it unlocked, I go home and put my Sim from my old phone in it. It works.

Then I connect it to iTunes and this message comes up:

‘This sim is not supported’

:konfused:

The phone is unlocked, worked just fine till I connected it to iTunes. What do I do?

I have no idea what firmware version or bla bla it is :frowning:

I tried to look at this but since I have no clue what version I have I dont know what to do:

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

EDIT, I went to vodafone to solve this but them lot didnt have a clue.

Actually I am doing unlocking stuff as hobby and iphone thing is cheese cake after they released the new unlock.

Although I dont know how the person unlocked it. Normally it would be JB and then Usnow. But why it is not getting recognize or what you are trying to do is something else.

I am not making it clear because talking about these stuff are not allowed on the forum.. oh maybe PM or else =P

Although can you tell if it is 3gs or 3g? and also can you tell about the software version and the modem version?

It is located under Settings> General> About

Ok, the thing is 3G I am almost sure. Basically to summarise:

  • I get it unlocked
  • I go and put my Sim in it and it works perfectly, i.e. I can make calls, text etc
  • Then for charging I connect it to iTunes
  • And since then the message that comes up is ‘This Sim is not recognised’

Thing is I don’t understand the message, if the Sim is ‘unrecognised’ then why was it working before i.e. prior to me connecting the iPhone to iTunes?

I think you updated your software after you connected to itunes, as it give you an alert that a new software is available… right?!

ROFLOLLLLLL if you did update then the JB and unlock is gone as it is NOT permanent and you are again having a locked iphone in your hands or may be under your feet :smiley:

Now just pray that the baseband is updated till 5.12 and not further or else you are “stuck” :smiley:

although with 3G it is still unlockable but the process is strange although u can do it at home IF you are willing to have some adventure :smiley:

Shak, what’s the version of ur baseband version on it now? and the OS ver? Or did you bring it all the way up to IOS 4? lol.

I got him to run f0recast and the result was

Baseband 5.13.04
OS: 4.0.1

Although both can be done as he is on 3G where bootloader version isnt that important.

Dev team is soon going to release JB and unclock for iOS 4.0 and 4.0.1.

which means i will buy the new iphone :wink:

^^ its already there :chai: Only not for baseband greater than 5.13.04 or bootloader newer than 5.9 (for 3GS) as far as I know…
