Help Wanted - Canada

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

that's worse than racism. He should sue. He should have been given a chance worth dying for. It's once in a lifetime thing.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Alas i don't believe in taking money. I will give you an example of the New York mentality that our brothers here are so rproud of.

A woman had her car stalled on 3rd Avenue. She waved someone down to jump start her car. After 30 minutes someone finally agreed to help her for 20 bucks.

Welcome to New York. No morality no nothing. Just their god. The all mighty dollar.

On topic as i said before, its retard. There is discrimination everywhere. Its amazing. You guys go after the EU and Canada for their policies yet don't even see how the current US economy is making sure people can't come in and there is higher unemployment now in the US and guess what alot of highly educated immigrants are out of work here as well.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

So your BS about racism and white slaves is just farting off?

She is lucky that someone stopped, and 20bucks is not a big price to pay. People have work to get to (they are what is called ‘employed’ and have what is called ‘jobs’). No one has time to be jumping people’s stalled cars. There is something called AAA…it is only 55 $ for a year.. Get a f’ing membership. They come to scene in less than 5 minutes in the city.

:jhanda:

CM, please stop coming up with this stupid made up stuff about New Yorkers.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Farting off? Its US history ever heard of the civil war?

Sure making stuff up like you meeting Edward Said for bagels eh?

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Yeah, I also worked for Ugandan government when I was 12.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

CM allow me to answer (actually slap on the faces) of some NYC Cabbies as they don't have access to SAS

Persons unemployed 15 weeks or longer…
US 2.1% vs. Canada 1.5%

Job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs…
US 2.6% vs. Canada 1.9%

Total unemployed, as a percent of the civilian work force…
US 5.3% vs. Canada 4.3%

Total unemployed plus discouraged workers…
US 5.6% vs. Canada 4.5%

Total unemployed, plus discouraged workers, plus all other marginally attached workers …
US 6.3% vs. Canada 5.2%

Total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers, plus total employed part time for economic reasons…
US 9.3% vs. Canada 7.8%

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

3 important things

1) Who gives a **** if an Indian can't find clerical job

2) I don’t think Canada ever requested Singhson to migrate!?!

3) If NY Times is so worried then hire him as “paperboy”

On a serious note; skilled immigrants in Canada must lower their standards in order to find job

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

I thought the canadian unemplyment rate in 2004 was 11%? Code monkey..check that for me..thanks.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

haha what kind of nonsense is this clown spouting now.... who the hell cares dude, always going on about the most random topics. Jobless rate in Canada? LOL
There may be racism, but anybody can get a job here if you are'nt to choosy.
Go to Fort McMurrey AB they wil hire you without an interview.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Wow. I thought US had to worry about China and India. I guess the threat Canada poses makes China and India look like a walk in a theme park.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Edited: since Todd took his commentes back.

Here to summarize the original discussion. Unemployment is prevalent among recent immigrants in Canada (Desis, who make up a significant bunch of new emigres, face extra-ordinary hurdles (including institutional racism). As our esteemed colleague Danda has so eloquently put “talented and smart people go to Canada to become average people”. It is pretty sad state of affairs. Being a neighbor to the world leader, one would hope that Canadians will learn something, but no. And that’s sad.

The other angle I wanted to look at was how our Canadian Pakis are always so anti-American (in my experience, they live to belittle America, in absence of going anything for them in their adopted land. That’s just my opinion.). Therefore, I wanted to ask them why do they detest United States so much, given the fact that things are pretty shytty back home for them? We buy your Maple syrup, what else do you want us to do?

Let’s get back to the original discussion. Thanks.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Pakis anywhere have anti-american sentiments in general. Do you think Pakis in Canada slam it because they are canadian? You're silly.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Romeo, how many Pakis in the US are anti-American? I am talking about among those who are well settled. I am not talking about someone who may have issues with certain policies, politics, and stuff. I am talking about people who genuinely detest the United States (in a way, that they will never consider living in that evil place….that kinda detestation.). Secondly, how many Pakis in Europe that hate the US (UK not included, that’s why it is part of the Hate Triangle I mentioned). How about we work our way from Northern Europe and work down to southern Europe? You start.

Hint: Northern Europe is north of central Europe and southern Europe is south of both, the central and the Northern.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Roman, did I ever tell you that you are my favorite Paki American. You put the Pak in America. I am going to introduce legislation to have you be the GRand Marshall at this year's Pakistan Day parade in NYC. You can sit on Reema's lap while she feeds you angoors.

Canada’s deadly trade in asbestos

by Mark Bourrie

Ottawa, March 25 – Canada is starting work this summer on a billion dollar project to renovate its parliamentary buildings and cleanse them of asbestos, which has been found to cause cancer.

The project will take six years to complete but, in the meantime, Canadian government agents are still pushing exports of the fibre. Canada even has gone so far as to argue a challenge at the World Trade Organization that a proposed French ban on asbestos imports would be an illegal trade practice.

Despite recent warnings that asbestos was the cause of 500,000 cancer victims in western Europe alone, Canadian asbestos producers continue to promote and sell their fibre worldwide - especially to developing nations.

“What’s the difference between land mines and asbestos?” asks Dr. Barry Castleman, author of a respected book on the danger of asbestos. “A key difference, of course, is that Canada doesn’t export land mines.”

In Britain, the Cancer Research Campaign said in January that its study into the European asbestos-linked cancer epidemic should sound alarm bells everywhere, “particularly in the developing world where uncontrolled asbestos is still very common,” said CRC director Gordon McVie.

Seven of Canada’s top 10 markets are Third World countries. Still, the Canadian government, the asbestos industry and lobby groups are trying to put a good face on the asbestos industry.

Recently, diplomats stationed here were flown to asbestos- producing regions on an all-expense-paid first-class junket.

Journalists have been cultivated with similar perks.

In a speech delivered last year before an audience of occupational health professionals from around the world who had gathered in Italy, Dr. Joseph LeDou of the University of California’s Medical School attacked Canada’s asbestos-promoting efforts.

LeDou said Canada was engaged in “the exploitation of ignorance and poverty” in Asia, Africa and Latin America." He accused Canadian policy makers of "setting up the developing world “for an epidemic of asbestos-related disease, the costs of which will fall on countries that can ill afford it.”

More hell unleashed on the developing world by a thoughtless Canada working purely in its own self-interest!

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

all for naught - in summary… this is all just your opinion. I suggest you ask the 100+ Paki Canadians on this BB alone to get a pulse of how “shytty” things are for them (a pretty conceited postulation btw), and whether they have any general hatred towards the U.S. or simply indignation over some of its policies.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Well my friend, you be the first. Start with what you like about the United States.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

how many Pakis in the US are anti-American?

A lot.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

Are they gainfully employed? Are they Shias, Sunnis, Mohajir, Punjabis, or Muslim? Be a little more specific. You are making some sweeping statements without any backup.

Re: Help Wanted - Canada

What we need a is a two/three dimensional chart to graph this out.

in the rows we can use the muslim/shia/hindu/punjabi etc. In the columns lets fill out employed/unemployed/policy b1tcher etc. Then we graph it out.
