The day an American like Madhanee understands Canada- well lets just say we can wait until hell freezes over- but it just wont happen.

Why is it butt of everyone’s jokes? Is it true that most Desis live on welfare in Canada? Yes I read the article. You have doubts Madhanee jee? What do I think? I think that when people who are educated overseas arent recognized as qualified people- its a sad case. I know a lot of doctors who have been trying to pass the exams and such for years, yet cant work, even though Canada has a big shortage of physicians. But I also know such people in America who are in the same boat. But over all I have to admit that immigrants here , do have a chance.
True that around 70% of new immigrants have trouble finding work, but it is also true that around 45% of them found work within 6 monthes of arriving to Canada.
Plus who said I hate America? I might not approve of some of its policies but lets not jump the gun here. And the only people who joke about it are Americans -and they laugh at their own jokes. Which is rather sad if you ask me.
And since you brought up Canada, I dont see why I cant bring America into it.
Plus heres something that might interest you.
All in all I must say that immigrants have a higher chance here (than the States) at making something of their lives. Its a matter of getting recognition. And hopefully that will change for the better in the future.

On what grounds do you say that Immigrants in Canada have higher chance of making something of their lives, than in the US. Do you have any data to support that? Or is it just your gutt feelings or based upon talking to a few people?
Here, what about you look at unempolyment data for entire Canada and a sub set for immigrants. Do the same for the US. And let’s see. Is that fair?

Madhanee America doesnt even have decent health care for its citizens who are born and raised there, and you're telling me an immigrant has a chance at success? More so there than in Canada?
(ps me not feeling well so how about you get me all the data - poverty, lack of health care - the basics you know. For canada and America. :p)

US has the best Healthcare, unlike Canada we don’t have to wait 6 months to get a splinter out of our nails.

CM, you can't apply US laws to canadians, our borders finish when we see Moose and Maple and guys riding horses with hats and red stripe on their pants. We don't like other countries abide by our rules. Now they might want it, but we say, let everyone decide for themselves.
