NUMBER 2 : EXERCISE DAILY AS IT IMPROVES BLOOD CIRCULATION
NUMBER 3: EAT PLENTY OF FRUITS AND GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES
NUMBER 4 : AVOID RED MEAT AND DAIRY PRODUCTS
NUMBER 5 : ADD MULTIVITAMINS IN UR DIET, I USE CENTROVITAL ITS MULTIVITAMIN N MULTIMINERAL...U WILL INSHAALLAH SEE LESS HAIR FALLING IF U START USING IT

BEST REMEDY : TAKE A BIG EMPTY BOTTLE, BUY METHI SEEDS (METHI DANA)..FILL UP THE BOTTLE HALF .....AND THEN POUR MUSTARD OIL(SARSO KA TAIL) AND FILL UP THE BOTTLE. CAP IT N SHAKE IT....PLACE THIS BOTTLE UNDER SUN FOR 7DAYS...AND START USING IT ON THE EIGHT DAY...WHENEVER USE OIL, ALWAYS WASH OIL WITH BABY SHAMPOO AS IF U USE HARSH SHAMPOO UR HAIR WONT BE GOOD...IT WILL INSHAALLAH REDUCE UR HAIRFALL IF U DO ONCE IN A WEEK OR TWICE A WEEK...

ANOTHER BEST REMEDY IS ARNICA MONTANA HAIR OIL MANUFACTURED BY BROOKES LABORATORY...IT MADE MY HAIR SOFT, HEALTHY AND SILKY

TRY THEM OUT AND LET ME KNOW....IT WORKED MIRACULOUSLY FOR ME

Re: help needed hair loss!!

great thread ... question!
somebody mentioned using olive oil heated with garlic cloves EVERYDAY ... and awahid has also said this ... wouldn't this garlic smell kind of take home in you and make you smell real bad always? :(

I heard that Methi seeds (Fenugreek Seeds) are good for this too. How often do you think you would need to do this? Once a week, Once a month, every now and then throughout the year..?

Re: help needed hair loss!!

I have been losing my hair since the age of 17 and i am 23 now. I have the same problem as the person that emailed you @ awahid81. Like most posters here, I also have PCOS and my derm dr actually screwed me over when i went to him 5 years ago. His protocol was standard and he actually helped come up with Rogaine! After a while, i was just told to basically "live with it"

anyway, iA i will try the garlic remedy and hopefully, I will be more consistent with it. Thank you all for the suggestions!

Re: help needed hair loss!!

Hey, this may help:
okay so I just wanna say I am taking Biotin, its a vitamin, and it strengthens a protein called KERATIN which is what your hair/nails/skin us made up of. And after reading several reviews on Biotin, I decided to buy some and I already see some new hair growth!

Start off with 1000 mcg, and eventually aim to go til 5000 mcg. I've read several reviews on it and people say how their nai;s & hair grow so fast. Just google "Biotin reviews" and you'll see. I am so excited, I mean I've ben taking it for two weeks and my nails are growing so fast! And of course my hair, I have extreme thinning (and when I say that I mean I literally cannot PART my hair) , its all due to my stupid decision to permanently straighten my hair via chemical methods, biggest mistake of my life. =/

So, I decided to start taking a multi-vitamin, Omega-3 fatty acids & OF COURSE...Biotin. I take 2000 mcg.

It's available everywhere, I got mine from Costco. I seriously would reccomend it to EVERYONE who has hair loss or has thinning out hair or even someone who's hair/nails grow slow.

Of course it takes time to notice results...on an averege the person who saw AMAZING results was taking atleast 5000 MCG and for atleast 3 months. So even though I still cant part my hair and the thinning is scary looking (THANK GOD I have curly hair so the volume comes in handy to conceal most of the thinning) I'm gonna slowly increase my strength of Biotin (like I said, I'm currently taking 2000 mcg, will eventually increase it 5000 mcg) and I have faith this will work.

I honestly dont know why this isn't a well known vitamin.
sigh

So happy I found out about this. =)

Re: help needed hair loss!!

also, I am also diagnosed w/ PCOS. =/

Re: help needed hair loss!!

there are many things that people with PCOS can do......detox ur body
detoxify..........and lose some weight .....eat low glycemic food....avoid carb, sugary items....quit all bakery......eat more fresh fruits n vegetable....drink plenty of fruit juices, and also carrot juice. eating low glyccemic food will enable u to lose weight and wont increase the level of androgen in the body....drink milk , yogurt n also take good proteins. exercise please.....do exercise....walk for 30 to 45minutes.....drink plenty of water 8glasses a day not much...too much water also cause problems....8glasses will suffice......please follow this diet thing which I have mentioned and get rid of PCOS......also do eat lots of fibre....high fibre diet will absorb excess hormones and pas it out via stools....do it n let me know. also one more thing we are Muslims........read darood ibrahimi 100times in fajr and pray for pcos to end. inshaALLAH u will see alot of change.......be positive not frightened. no stress pls...

regards
sara

and no dieting ok.....u will lose more hair.........follow diet full of fibre, vegetables and fruits till ur pcos is over....and dont leave exercise.....u will see a big change.....people with insulin resistance have trouble with carbs n sugar......so try low glycemic diet. search on net abt low glycemic diet and eat that....FOLLOW it for 4 or 5 months atleast and see the change....that will help...

Re: help needed hair loss!!

Choose low-GI whole-grain starches (dense wholegrain breads, brown rice, basmati rice, wholewheat pasta, noodles, sweet potatoes) rather than refined or processed starches (white bread, white rice, white pasta, potatoes) and whole fruit rather than fruit juice. Higher fiber foods (especially foods rich in soluble fiber) cause a slower rise in blood-sugar. For example, 1/2 cup of All Bran (10 grams of fiber) is better than cornflakes (1 gram fiber). An apple (4 grams of fiber) is better than apple juice which contains no fiber. Best sources of soluble fiber include apples, oats and beans.

*Eat plenty of vegetables and beans. Not only are veggies packed with micronutrients like vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, they are low in calories and (usually) have a very low GI value. If possible, combine some fat and protein with the carbohydrate (starch or fruit). This will slow the rise of blood sugar from the carbohydrate. For example, eat toast with two teaspoons of peanut butter rather than toast with jam. *

Choose lower-GI snacks. Instead of donuts, muffins, cakes, cookies, candy, sweets, jams, regular sodas, sugar and honey, switch to snack-foods like: fresh fruit, chopped veggies, sourdough muffins, oatmeal cookies, banana, bowl of All-Bran, low-fat yogurt, unsweetened canned fruit, nuts and seeds, dried fruit, baked tortilla chips and salsa, hummus, wholewheat pita with salad and light mayonnaise, and water.

PCOS Diet: Best Fats

The healthiest fats/oils come from UNREFINED vegetable sources or oily fish.

  • For cooking, choose extra virgin olive oil
  • For salads, choose from flax oil, canola oil, soy oil, extra virgin olive oil, wheatgerm oil, walnut oil or hemp seed oil.
  • Eat regular helpings of oily fish like salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines, tuna.

note: Flax seed oil, hemp seed oil, canola oil and oily fish are great sources of one of the key essential fatty acids, omega-3. This type of fat is good for heart health and weight reduction, and offers a range of other metabolic health benefits.
PCOS Diet: Best Proteins

Protein is found in many foods, but the best type of protein is low in saturated fat. Good protein choices include: fish, lean beef, lean ham, egg whites, whole eggs, chicken breast, turkey breast, pulses, beans, nuts, seeds, soy products and vegetarian protein foods such as quorn and seitan.

**Importance of Exercise**

Regular physical exercise is essential for any weight reduction plan, and is especially important for all PCOS patients. Studies show that regular aerobic exercise workouts benefit insulin resistance as well as a range of health indicators like serum cholesterol, blood pressure and cardiovascular function. Weight or strength training improves insulin resistance and metabolic rate. All these benefits impact on polycystic ovary syndrome. For optimum benefit, take 30-60 minutes combined exercise on most days.

Re: help needed hair loss!!

i've heard so much about eggs in your hair...however is it easy to wash out? if your taking a shower, warm water would just cook it wouldn't it?

Re: help needed hair loss!!

Thanks for posting this :)

I googled Biotin and you're right it has soooo many positive reviews, can't believe this stuff is not more well-known.. Have just bought a bottle of the pills, don't have hair loss or thinning but would love my hair to grow faster and thicker so fingers crossed it works as well for me as it seems to have done for others..
