I also use biotin.. it really helps. I use Nioxin shampoo and I feel like My hair has gotten alot thicker since I started using it. I have been using it since december 2009. It worked pretty quickly. Recently I stopped using it because I wanted a change. Now I am using Nexxus. Havent used it long enough to tell a difference. Also, I tried Mane and Tail shampoo it also helped a bit but I think Nioxin worked alot better!!
I put egg and oil in my hair every week (sometimes I add yogurt in it too). hope this helps.
When I started using nioxin, I noticed a change in a few weeks in the bald spots... The length took a little bit longer because my hair gets thick quickly but does not get longer quickly... It had been the same length for years but since I started using the egg and oil, its been getting longer also.
I have PCOS, and like someone else said before my Dr said sorry nothing you can do, however i changed my DR and guess what got loads of blood tests done, found out i had an underactive thyroid, also my iron levels were far too low, also my ferritin levels were also far too low, anyhow have been given some super strength iron tablets and have already noticed a difference in the hair fall.
Going to give biotin a try too, but girls dont give up on hair fall due to PCOS, the first thing the new doc asked me was what tests were done to highlight my hairfall was due to PCOS and not something else, i was like UUURRHHH???:khums:
